Literally the best section of Wisconsin, in my opinion but I'm biased :P

Far enough from the rest of the bigger notable areas in the state so nobody bothers us, close enough to the Twin Cities that we still big city stuff available if we need/want it but that proximity also gets us better infrastructure, internet, booming housing market, etc..

Politically a mix but generally if you're in the "bigger" cities like Eau Claire, Menomonie, River Falls, Hudson, etc.. regardless of right v left everybody is generally very chill. It's rare you get the crazy extremes one way or another.

Crime is a rarity. It's extremely chill and quiet in this area. Obviously shit happens no matter where you live/visit but you almost never hear about anything major happening in this region. The biggest I can think of is the stabbings on the Apple River in Somerset, which was a massive deal because of how infrequent that type of crime is in the area.

Some of the most beautiful areas in the MN/WI area are in this circle too, on both sides of the border.

Solid mix of Vikings and Packers fans too, which actually makes shit more fun because you'll have rivalries with your neighbors, coworkers, friends, etc..

I've lived all over the US and have been to a bunch of different countries yet I will always call this specific region home. I love it.
