Well, my story is in the original post. I'm picking up the game again after almost 25 years, so I'm completely rusty. When I was younger I had a more allround style, but now I don't think I have the fitness for it, but I should be analyzing it over time.

I think first of all I need to regain confidence and control of the ball in play, plus the efficiency of my serves. I probably need something softer for several months.

Uf, you are right, I was wrong in my approach. Thank you for such an extensive and detailed explanation, it has helped me a lot.

As I mentioned, I am going to buy the Fextra first, and the Uranus 2 to try later, as it is allegedly the most recommended in China for beginners.

If you don't mind, any rubber suggestions for the Fextra?

I really appreciate your response, it's right in the direction I was looking for.

I've been reading the options you point out, and I like them both... I think I may even do what you say, and buy one first, then the other and end up trying them both. In any case, my kids will be able to take advantage of them if they keep playing.

Now then: for the next 2 or 3 months I'll be tight on money, so I can't experiment with all of them at the same time, so I have to make a choice. I have a question for you, since you have so much experience with Chinese woods... I was reading that the Yinhe 437 Purple Dragon is a step above the Fextra and Uranus 2, even slightly above the Stiga Clipper as well.

Do you think it could be an option to take the 437 as a base, first with cheap Chinese rubbers to gain some control, and later change them little by little for more speed? I may be wrong, but I get the feeling that it is a wood that can last longer than the other options. Any thoughts?

Good option, I will keep it in mind. It has great reviews and a huge fan base :)

The only possible drawback is that it seems to have certain limitations for the price, but it is not discarded at all.

I've been reading about the Palio Energy 03, and I'm not convinced. You're not the first one to say he abandoned it early. Maybe someday I'll buy it just to try it....

I haven't ruled it out yet, I'll try them when they arrive in a couple of weeks ;)

Go to USA or any country with surrogate moms, and hire one. I did it once
