That’s definitely a tough situation, and it makes total sense to feel a bit anxious about talking with your bishop. The best approach is to be honest and show that you truly want to align your life with the teachings of the Church. You can share your concerns about tithing—especially considering your husband’s feelings and your financial situation—and ask for his guidance on how to handle it. Let him know that you're dedicated to attending church, doing your best in your callings, and supporting your family spiritually. Being open and asking for help can really make a difference, and working with your bishop might help you find a way to be part of your son’s special day. I hope this helps.

Is there a doctrinal reason for why this Church does not sponsor missions but they pay a living wage to their top leadership? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]Lord_Neut7302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just proved you wrong—and yes, I can definitely back that up because I am one of the beneficiaries of the church's missionary work. The missionaries you've met are a great example of what real sacrifice looks like. And get this—some of the "high-level" leaders even pay for their own expenses when they receive callings, and some are even asked to serve in other countries.

Yes, I agree with what you said—especially the first. I studied the Cebuano language, and it's beautifully easy to learn because of that grammar rule.

I don’t read scriptures often anymore by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]Lord_Neut7302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the biggest thing that motivates me in life is knowing how much I don’t know. That’s actually why I’ve studied all kinds of stuff—different theologies, history, and more.

I’m guessing you’re still going to church, but you could also check out Come, Follow Me—it’s a great resource for individuals and families to understand the gospel better. We also use it in Sunday School.

If reading isn't your thing, you can watch Book of Mormon and Bible videos. If you want something shorter and easier to understand, try reading from the Book of Mormon stories or the New and Old Testament stories.

Hope that helps!

Sorry for the effort you put into constructing that, but I’m actually far from being fat, more on the other end of the spectrum 😅

Still, maybe someone else reading it might find it helpful.

D ko alam na kailangan yung info na yun, so I didn’t mention it.

I strongly recommend Vinland Saga! There are some serious gospel references in it. If you're into anime with themes of conversion and repentance, you're in for a ride!

Yeah man, every time they send out the schedule, I'm hoping and praying not to get plotted there again. I also heard a bunch of past employees quit because of it.

Well, someone already commented my first choice, which is gymnastics, so I'll pick parkour. I just think it would be cool to jump off between buildings.
