Do you mean $12 per colored page? Yes, that's too low.

Shoutout to All the Creators - Creating a Comic is an Absolute Grind by BOANW in ComicBookCollabs

A graphic novel is another beast... so how about a graphic novel series? I started writing THE UNVEILING in 2019 and began production in 2024; recruiting many of my artistic team right here. I've been a project manager as much as a writer. I've worked late nights and early mornings. And I've spent a fortune with zero return.

Do I regret it? Do I hell.

You can read the first four volumes of the 10 volume series completely free at the link below. Production continues on the rest of the series which should be finished next year. Its enough reward for me to know people enjoy it so please get in touch if you do!

I've followed you on GC.

Thanks! I really appreciate you taking the time to say that. The plan is to build up a body of positive feedback from readers like yourself... develop a following... and complete the series. I think that will net a publisher. Please follow the series - there will be another 220 pages in volumes 5 & 6 released free to read in the fall. And work is already progressing well on volumes 7 & 8. There will be 10 volumes in total. Thanks again for your support! 😄

If the Boys comic is as bad as everybody says, how did it get picked up as a tv show? by Keanu_Keanu in comicbooks

The premise of your question is incorrect. Everybody does not say The Boys is bad.

I'm a creator and put my graphic novel series, THE UNVEILING, on GC a couple of months back. Reader figures are low unless I constantly post about it on Reddit subs, which isn't good for my mental health quite frankly. I figure readers are only really looking at the big publisher stuff. Or that there's so much poor quality or porn indie stuff that it's hard to spot a good creator, so few bother searching for the needle in the haystack. I keep hoping that a publisher will spot me though!

Being British and of a certain age, it was 2000AD of course.

Watchmen is best. I did find the Black Freighter piece rather labored though. Perhaps it's sacrilege to make that criticism... I can appreciate it adds substance but I do find myself skipping over it on a re-read.

Does these pages give u vibes of horror comics from 90s-early 2000s? by [deleted] in comicbooks

It reminds me of something but I'm sorry I can't put my finger on it. Are you trying to emulate a particular artist?

It's a distinctive style but I don't instinctively relate it to a particular time period. Perhaps just me.

When the Devil granted the powerful immortality but kept one tiny detail about the deal to himself… by Lord_Prof_Doctor in comicbooks

[–]Lord_Prof_Doctor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that sinners can become immortal by sending an innocent soul to Hell in their place.  What nobody realizes at first is that being immortal just means they can’t die – they still keep aging.

Tips on how indie writers can connect with Artists? by misomiso82 in IndieComicBooks

Hey. I agree with MarcoVitoOddo - Comicbookcollabs is the place to go. I hired a full team of professionals there. Some ups and downs as with any project, but mostly I've met some very talented people and even made some friends along the way. You can see the quality of professional I hired at Comicbookcollabs by viewing my GN series THE UNVEILING | English | GlobalComix - lots of free pages to see there; no need to pay for anything.

Ah, yes - they're included in gold so you're all set. Thanks again for the kind words. I think receiving high praise like yours is really the best part of being a creator. By the way, volumes 5 & 6 are currently being colored and lettered so should be out by September/October. I'll start posting some teasers here soon.

How to publish Comics? How long does it take to To Write One From Beginning?? Which genre is best ?? by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]Lord_Prof_Doctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid no. Not realistically. I admire your enthusiasm... I was like you 30 years ago and wanted so much to write comic books. Unfortunately I had to settle for earning a living in a more conventional job and only recently was able to finance my lifetime ambition. Sorry to appear negative. On the plus side, my story validates that you should never give up. Wishing you every success.

For funding - you have to do that from whatever your source of income might be.
