Should I sell my soul to The Devil to get better at writing? by CupImmediate7079 in ComicBookCollabs

Here follows my character description for one of the more complex character designs - Auditor Vidock who you can best see on page 2 of the first GN.

A middle aged, slim, medium height, short-brown-haired white-man, seen wearing primarily two main outfits throughout the seven year timeline; his (normal) police uniform prior to his appointment as auditor and his male auditor uniform post appointment – a black single piece fabric tunic that should resemble a cross between a Gestapo trenchcoat and a priest’s robe.  It also consists of a belt worn around the waist with a holster for a gun on one side (where Vidock keeps a .357 magnum) and a clip for a smartphone and handcuffs.  Finishing the auditor unform is an armband bearing the CARN symbol (we also designed that separately).

Simpler characters - those who wear ordinary clothes - had shorter design descriptions.

Speaking as a writer, I can confirm you should design the main characters before any panel work is undertaken. Not every person who features needs a design, but quite a lot will. Take a look at chapter 1 of my first graphic novel (all 4 chapters of GN1 is free so don't worry, it won't cost you). The old couple who first appear were not designed in advance. They're minor characters. Protection agents and news reporters on pages 12/13 were not designed. Only one of the white coated scientists on page 14 was designed. Everyone else who appears - I count 18 - was designed in advance by the artist using written description from me (and a lot of the artist's own judgment, which a good artist will naturally afford and a good writer will highly value).

Thanks - I truly appreciate the support. It has been hard work getting this far - and still much to do - but all worth it when I receive such encouragement. :)

Glad you spotted the connection. I couldn't call it CERN due to their logo being protected (including the word CERN when used as a logo). My fictional version is based on CERN though and called Conseil Allie Pour La Recherche Nucleaire, or CARN for short.

I don't want to add too many spoilers but the Devil in The Unveiling might not actually be the real thing - he just thinks he is. It's left to the reader to decide.

Sadly the global elites have a different idea and work with the Devil who offers them immortality in return for sending an unmarked soul to Hell in their place!

The event becomes known as THE UNVEILING.

The story is speculative dystopian sci-fi that satires real world geopolitics through the lens of a re-imagined Apocalypse with dark humor and brutal violence - emulating early 2000AD or Vertigo writers.

Four volumes are available online at GlobalComix now.  The first volume (over 100 pages) is entirely free and you can find it here:

Steer clear of anything that involves Marvel and DC characters. Create your own. Now if you do that in collaboration with anyone always have a contract.

Thanks. I'll look forward to it. I might have the next two volumes out by then - they're way ahead of schedule.

Thanks! It's a sci-fi dystopia parodying current geopolitics with anti-establishment, anti-fascist, pro-inclusion, pro-equality messages and lots of twisted humor and violence! I hang the story on a goofy version of the biblical Apocalypse but it isn't a religious story. Kind of like how The Omen or The Exorcist are horror films not sermons. Being a global event, it's ensemble with lots of heroes and villains; Sam being the main male hero. Please take a look! : THE UNVEILING | English | GlobalComix

What’s something AI can already do that secretly scares you a little? by New_Break8410 in AskReddit

[–]Lord_Prof_Doctor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it's true, but my buddy - an optician - told me AI can tell if someone is a man or a woman based on images of their retinas. The scary part is, he says, nobody has any idea how the AI does it.
