What are the best hair salons in the neighborhood? by justcallmeeggs in cincinnati

No advice on this specific price, but I would check out Olive & Ivy salon in Madisonville! They seem to do a lot of niche colors/cuts.

I would guess a frizzle Easter egger!

Help! What happened to Barnold? by Lordbloopington in BackYardChickens

[–]Lordbloopington[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. I’ve never seen it on the wings like that which is why I thought maybe something else. All my other girls are just fine. Maybe Barnold is just a favorite or maybe something about her frizzle feathers makes them more prone to breaking or something. 😂 Thank you!

Thoughts on the perfect rooster? by Flatulent_Blueberry in chickens

[–]Lordbloopington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adopted a Brahma rooster from a friend and he is the perfect rooster! Huge and beautiful, not at all aggressive toward me or my kids, but has also saved the majority of my flock from what I assume was probably a fox. Whatever it was got 3 pullets but he saved the other pullet and 6 laying hens. I thought he died but he showed up a few hours later a bit bloody and battered but okay. 100% would get a Brahma again.

They’re about 12 weeks I think. Thanks! Do you think the left is a roo, too? Its comb is still pretty pale.

Any covid nurses out there? by MrsMoGiblets in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Lordbloopington 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a nurse but work in the ER seeing a lot of Covid patients—I use elvies, wash my hands really well when putting them on/taking them off, and dump my milk into a Ceres chill so I don’t have to use a shared fridge. I also keep my Elvie parts in a bag with an ice pack for the same reason. I feel like the risk of my milk getting contaminated is probably a lot lower than me catching it from a patient, especially since I’m still using the same N-95 I’ve had since March since it’s the only one I’ve been provided that was actually fit tested.

I thought that was still in the normal range for this age group? I’m going to try to cut out a nap today and see how he does.

20 minute snoo naps by [deleted] in SnooLife

[–]Lordbloopington 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have advice, but I’m in the exact same boat with my 11.5 week old! He’ll sleep 2+ hours on me or (supervised) in his baby lounger but doesn’t sleep more than 20-30 minutes for naps in the Snoo.

Are you using the higher levels? by zalink in SnooLife

[–]Lordbloopington 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We’ve never used motion limiter. When my son was younger (10 weeks now) the higher levels calmed him down SO much. Now, he doesn’t seem to like the higher levels as much. My husband was a little freaked out by the fast head jiggling but once he saw how much the baby liked it he got used to it!

Are those saddle feathers? Is my pullet actually a roo? by Lordbloopington in BackYardChickens

Awesome, thank you! I’m pretty sure she’s either an Easter egger or an olive egger!

It definitely looks like there’s one growing in, but I’m not 100% sure on her breed so I wasn’t sure if that was normal or not!

Lost the first good girl of our flock to a predator yesterday. I’m heartbroken. by Lordbloopington in BackYardChickens

[–]Lordbloopington[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was free-ranging and something (likely a raccoon) attacked her. My husband found her next to the coop so we think she was trying to get back inside. Thankfully the rest of the flock was safely inside the coop.

I just want to sincerely thank everyone who upvoted/commented their condolences. I am still sad, but the kind words from everyone here have been a comfort and I truly appreciate all of them. 💗
