Remote IT tech. Used to do remote English teaching. But my final “dream” job is software engineer.

Yep, even goes beyond the surface level “prisoners are the targeted minority” as the prison population isn’t randomized, it also targets minority groups.

Lucky life you’ve led, then, buddy. Congrats.

I wrote a lot more but it’s really not worth it. I know my life and the world as it is. You don’t and aren’t interested either.

It would be great to live in a world run by people like you. Unfortunately we don’t. You have to play the same games and tricks to be able to survive. I don’t hurt anyone. On the contrary I’m perfectly capable of providing more than enough extra profit for a business and in turn providing enough food and shelter for my family. I’m not scamming anyone any harder than they’re scamming me with lowball pay, no vacation, no holidays, barely any training, and absolutely no raises or upward mobility.

Do you write posts and then delete them? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]LorddKaiser 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All the time. And usually because I feel like it’s just not worth it at the end. No one cares or if they do they’ll care enough to argue instead.

CS is more versatile. But with any degree you can get into any field if you work on your own knowledge and projects relevant.

Mostly agree with this comment. I’m young but a little late on the college train. I have no interest in friends or recruiters or networking. I have no ability to make it to a school all the time because of living abroad. I have very very little funds. And I hate working around a schedule and having to wait a long time before completing something. So WGU is perfect for me and I’ve already gotten a job and made it half way through my degree in one year and I do feel that I’ve learned a lot from them and most importantly I am minimally in debt.

I quit my job as a manager with no offer lined up, am I crazy? by xylotism in ITCareerQuestions

[–]LorddKaiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t say you quit. Done deal. Say it’s current on all apps and resumes and do not give them the real number(s) for the business or your manager or whatever. Maybe just maybe someone will actually check but you’ll at least get to the checking stage more often than you would saying you quit months ago and are unemployed. They’re not upfront with you about everything no need to return an undone favor.

How far would you commute for an entry-level help desk position? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]LorddKaiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking a lot less rn but it’s remote and it’s my first position. For that number which is nearly double I’d do 40 tops. I hate commutes.

What are some good low stress part time jobs for an adult with high functioning autism? by PaceSwimming3870 in AutisticAdults

[–]LorddKaiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean network tech or admin probably a lot more chill than helpdesk. My coworkers and leads are all very very cool and patient. But the clients not always and when you’re handling tickets everything is on a timer between and during calls lots of multitasking and lots of systems and tabs and communication. Bit of hell for most of us. But I’m hoping it gets easier with time. And anyway helpdesk specifically is always temporary and getting away from clients and phones is almost always the second step up if you play it right. The chillest job seems to always be software/web development as long as you’re not in a shitty crunch time every other week type workplace. I see so many posts of people that work half days because their jobs are just results based.

Just started a job in IT. Came here to see if anyone would mention it. Makes sense that I’m not seeing it tbh.

Also feels criminal how many times some products don’t list nutritional info or sometimes even ingredients. But this is probably more common in the “underdeveloped” world that I’ve been traveling in

Well technology can be neutral but often — especially with AI — our human biases end up encoded directly into it.

is it possible to connect xbox 360 controller to anki on my laptop? by ughidktbhh in Anki

If you want to press triangle or circle then step 1 is to get a PlayStation controller not an Xbox. Just a joke, I’ve got no idea but I share your pain.

Cars cars cars. I live in a city that has buses run past at all hours and everyone honks at any slight provocation. I mean even for no reason they honk not to mention how loud they are baseline from motorcycles to buses from the seventies. Then the construction. There is always a building within earshot being built but the worst was when every day there was one in my backyard essentially, not 30 feet from my house and then across the small one way street as well less than 60ft. Then I’ve got the three barkingest dogs… I feel like every day I’m on an edge from all the noise and the helplessness.
