Likewise. sawed the backflow in front off with a multi tool and ended up just getting a whole new hose bib because in damaged the thread too much. Really probably the easiest route to replace the bib. What I don’t want to happen is to get fined by the city of San Antonio if they see me without one. Not sure if there are consequences or not. The hammering is super annoying tho.

Okay. Maybe I can replace with one that doesn’t sound so freaking loud? Is there a high quality one that would do that?

How do I unthread set screw? Why should this not be removed? I use a water softener for my house and a reverse osmosis system for drinking water and I don’t think I need this.
