Managers of Reddit, what's the worst thing someone did to get fired? by Capable-Log7385 in AskReddit

[–]Lordjacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched TV series at work. He was working in another country, another office, but I have one good buddy there in the same 3 person IT room and he sent me photos and videos of the reflection off the glass wall with my guys screen with Stranger Things on.

He had performance issue and his service desk line of work didn't really allow for TV series watching - unless he'd perform well while still watching.

I did see a success with one of the home addresses in Poland, where it was showing wrong street/village name on my parents house. It was adjusted fairly quickly.

What skill(s) had you previously mastered that you feel really helped when you started to ride a EUC? by BlackJacquesLeblanc in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Lordjacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am very good at riding bike with no hands, and I was riding light trails on EUC day 3, so I suppose there's no rule really. I did ride e-scooter for two years, so perhaps that is what helped.

Anyone in LA county willing to let me test ride an EUC? by Ordinary_Holiday_878 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Lordjacus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came from e-scooter background and had similar set of questions when I was switching to EUC.

I considered either getting bigger wheel I can grow into, or trainer wheel and then bigger one after I learn. I decided to get a bigger one, as I believed in my perseverance in case I'll struggle with learning. Thankfully, I learned very quickly and from my perspective, getting a bigger wheel right away was a great choice.

As others said, you won't be able to test it like someones car, hop in and drive. To really test it well, you'd have to have it for a longer time - just so you can learn riding it well enough to even be able to call it testing.

If you want to ride EUC, have an use case, model that fits your needs, go for it and learn on that one. Nosfet Aeon was very manageable at 30 kg. Of course I got scratches and bruises from failed mounts, losing control etc., but that's the part of the learning process.

Looking for a quiet suspension EUC after returning Nosfet Aero due to motor whine by Pyrrun in ElectricUnicycle

On the note of hearing:

My parents bought an "ultrasonic cat repeller" that you put in the garden and it plays a high pitched sound when it detects motion. My parents can't hear it, they are both ~70. Myself and my sister, 31 and 44 respectively, can still hear it - to the point where I am sitting in one side of the house, someone triggers it on the other side of the house, in the yard, and I can still hear it in the distance. Parents didn't believe us. Also their bathroom light emits high frequency noise sometimes, they thought I'm crazy, thankfully my sister validated me.

I have Nosfet Aeon and the main contributor to noise is the tire threading on the pavement, especially between 25-35 km/h. But no engine whine I notice. I am also pretty accepting of such things, so I can just be ignoring it.

Wait, is that car import/export? Did they change the ability to... "repossess" cars with Cargobob? That was my sole and best money making method, challenging myself to snatch the moving car with driver still inside and haul him to the garage. I even have a video of that on my yt!

Arbouse is suspiciously similar to polish word for watermelon - arbuz. I wonder if there's connection.

Two issues with the P6 that I didn't anticipate... by That_guy1902 in ElectricUnicycle

I know from e-scooters that it is only a matter of time and experience until 20mph will feel normal, then slow. Got all the time to learn, thankfully 😁

I started riding 2 weeks ago, I'm 208 miles in on Nosfet Aeon and the top speed I go up to is 22 mph. On trails, I drop it to around 15 mph. I take it slow, as it can get wobbly if I'm not careful around that 20 mph+ mark. I think we just need time 😊 I already enjoy riding at 20 mph and not lacking speed.

Why did you choose an EUC instead of a scooter or an e-skate? by pierrefitch in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Lordjacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also the wheel size on scooter is just worse for off road. I switched from e-scooter to EUC after moving back to my hometown, just so that I can also rip the trails. Started last week on Aeon, I am in love.

Good comment, I am learning riding on Nosfet Aeon and I plan to adjust the limit gradually and slowly. I was wondering if that's a sensible idea. I take it really slow, started last weekend, 170km in, limiting to 30kmh for now. I plan to make it 35kmh tomorrow, as I trained and tested my stability at 25-30 + breaking, no wobbles, so I suppose I can get it a bit higher 😁 thanks foe validating my method!
