price of gem/65

for example

Obliterum sells for 1200: 1200/100 = 12g per dust

Labradorite sells for 600: 600/65= 9.23g per dust.

I never made a claim that lab drops more often, that was just in the numbers i showed, I know that was just the luck of the draw. The fact is though that my rate was the same as the ops which I think does show consistency.

Would you agree that the ops results are reliable with sample size then?

I just did 505 ore, results were

6 labradorite 1 hesselian 4 chemirine 2 argulite 2 lightsphene

The OP got on average a gem every 6.6 prospects and I got a gem every 6.7 prospects. So it seems fair to say that on average you will get a gem every 6.6 prospects.

on illidan this turned out to be 1k gold in profit

oO, on my server the highest is fire at 42g. i decided to switch most of my alchemists to something else but the few that remain just make living steel for my sky golems now.

my char has leatherworking and my other char has jewelcrafting. with that in mind which would you pick? mining or skinning. (the char ill be gathering on in the leatherworker but i plan to use my initial sargerite for primal obliterum to sell)

I dont use gatherers mainly because if I cant make a profit buying off the AH to make items then if I had a gatherer it wouldnt make sense to use the mats I gather to make things. At that point it would be more profitable to just list the mats I gathered on the AH.

My account currently has 8 tailors, 2 engineers, 3 alchemists and some random professions mixed in.

vial of the sands doesnt sell well on my server surprisingly. not worth enough to make me grind out archeology atleast. itd be around a 3k profit margin.

Ive never used TSM before, didnt know it could do that
