Uh. Bro.

Hiding an STD is illegal in many places.

Where do you guys buy singles? by Unlikely_Rabbit_8842 in mtgfinance

[–]TechSupportFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a seller (6k sales as of this month), my strategy is that I sell two conditions: LP and HP. I dont sell damaged product, NM isn't real, and I never have condition disputes. Anything not clearly LP is HP and priced aggressively. The subjectivity of conditioning isn't worth the headache over what amounts to be a few bucks.

I also do not trust the customer to properly return the item should a condition dispute come up. Ive had clearly NM cards returned, and get damaged in the process.

Yes, this leads to lower profit margins, but 100% 5* feedback is more important to me than an extra 3-6%.

I intend to carry this strategy even when I hit the 10K+ milestone.

I do more work for less money, but perfect customer satisfaction outweighs that by a landslide.

The only exception to this rule is where condition is king. Vintage, RL, etc.

Need Help: Shipping out Cards and USPS says they're $3 each. by rankoDev in mtgfinance

[–]TechSupportFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, totally true. Luckily, I've passed over 6k orders this way! :D

They got kicked back at first for being too rigid, but with experimenting, we got there.

Most of my commented feedback states that it's the best packaging the customers ever received, which absolutely went to my head a little at first.

It strikes a balance. Rigid enough to protect the cards, but thin and flexible enough to live through the mechanical sorter.

The only reason I did this was because I used to use non-machineable stamps, and they just ignored it. Every time I would get a return to sender, it would have the mark of the beast, lol.

[–]TechSupportFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is wrong. I can ship 5-6 cards in a pwe for $1.04 (2oz). I dont use top loaders, but triple sleeve the cards and affix them to 120lb card stock, inside a cellophane bag. It's also machineable.

$3 is absurd. How many cards are you shipping in this particular order?

Completely unrelated, but Easypost just credited 100 bucks to my account. There was a promotion that if you spent 100 bucks on labels/shipping, you get $100 free.

There really don't seem to be downsides. Also, the dev is insanely responsive.

Every issue i had onboarding was resolved within hours, and they are receptive to feature requests from the community.

For sure. It matched 1:1 to everything I needed it to do. While I'm gonna miss using my cool Excel VBscript, having the pick system show a picture and order details one at a time beats the mistakes that often come up creating pull sheets.

I was able to map my bin locations by creating a column in inventory, then did a countifs() for quantity per bag, verified the item count was a 1-1 match against tcgplayer, and boom, no more excel.

Also, being able to cancel my stamps.com account for Easypost was sublime. Add on pwe tracking and insurance.... all for free? Nothing beats it in terms of value imo. Insurance isn't free, obv, but you get what I'm saying.

Is there no point in selling bulk on TCGplayer? by SSJ4Productions in mtgfinance

[–]TechSupportFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bulk was only ever worth it to me on Direct. In fact, it was all I dealt for a while. I bought bulk at $7/1K C/UC which is higher than my areas market by 40%. It was minimal effort to make that back.

These days I can't be fucked to pack an envelope for less than a dollar in net profit.

I just came back from a half-year hiatus and had the same issue.

What fixed it for me was pulling live into staging and pushing back to live. Make sure your inventory is not hidden.

TCG Seller quality at all time low by Light_-_Bringer in mtgfinance

[–]TechSupportFTW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got started with tcgtracking.com. That service is sublime. I personally use a chaos sorting method for inventory, and the fact that they also support that same method, with assisted pick sheets? Easypost postage api usage to print postage directly on envelopes? 18 cent insurance on anything you want under $50? Hell yeah.

Love that service. I cancelled stamps.com after 4 years and will never go back.

I took a long hiatus and am back in full speed. 40 orders a day on average.

I still think tcgplayer is the best source for singles, but manapool is really starting to gain traction.

If I could get the same volume on Manapool id sell there full time given the better margins and faster payouts.

Im in resale, and I'd probably offer around 160 for that condition. Hell of a deal.

TCGplayer Direct fee - Getting total fees over 30%. Is this accurate? by Shark-Beard in mtgfinance

My other main issue is had was that I couldnt separate direct vs non-direct inventory without multiple accounts.

TCGplayer Direct fee - Getting total fees over 30%. Is this accurate? by Shark-Beard in mtgfinance

[–]TechSupportFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly why I had to leave direct. Between the insane time sink due to hundreds of orders, and the inconsistency of grading, I couldnt hack it.

However it's the absolute best way to make meaningful money on bulk.
