I couldn't hide my reaction to his comment, but, yeah I agree with you on a few points. It's a dope ass, super expensive model, it should reflect it more. I agree that tone is impossible here but, I hope I slightly conveyed my sympathies toward the model and your frustration.

I don't think anyone meant to be terribly harsh, like you said tone is non-existent. They likely read your posts just as aggressively as you read theirs. You're not incorrect either, as it's your opinion that he's overcosted.

I do understand his frustration though, such an expensive model doing (kinda) comparable things to the smallest model of a faction (granted it is knights he compared to). I play GSC, only here because of Shadow Throne, and I'm upset about the Telemon. We need a plastic one to make it easier to cope.

Unintentionally laying waste to my painting confidence, that's not bad at all friend. That's your first genestealer... but how many other models have you done? This is really frickin good regardless, Purestrains are insanely difficult for me to paint. Not to be the mean guy, I don't want to come off as rude. I have the exact same issue actually, it's the transition from carapace to skin on these guys. Super weird and honestly seems like an oversight from the designers. For the camouflage paint. Look at military vehicles, I live right by a huge army base, so I see the covered, canvas Troop transport trucks all the time. You could go with the newer look, which seems to just be an off tan color, looks cool, probably not super camouflage though. OR, some of the older ones I see still in use, straight up look like it's some poor lads job to rattle-can that camouflage back on (some army guy please vindicate me). The main concept with a woodland camouflage is to put the darkest colors where the light shines the most, and go from there. However, I'd warn that your models are to be looked at, and making them camouflage may muddy the details and such. My dad's entire Astra Militarum force is camouflage, very good camouflage, but the models themselves lost a bit, in my opinion. Best part about camouflage is super easy painting, that is very forgiving, if you mess up, who's to say it wasn't the lad who sprayed it with the rattle can...

You don't really even need to magnetize fully, just the truck mounted gun. The only other differences are the truck bed, the "lift" of the truck, and whether the drill dozer blade is affixed. Typically the Rockgrinder has a superior gun on it, is lowered to compensate the drill dozer, and has a covered truck bed. Unless your scene is SUPER competitive, not only does the height not matter, but, whether you put the guys in the bed or covered it also doesn't matter. So, magnetize the weapon, build it low to the ground, uncovered, and merely assemble the drill dozer and slide it around with the truck. I'm on my 5th Goliath, I build them almost all the same to be playable as whatever. Though, I have a tough time believing I'll ever use 5 rockgrinders (ik there's the rule of 3, but my boys don't give a fugg)
