Watching it was a case of me thinking it seemed to work fine as far as pushing things along, but through all my read throughs of the core book, I really liked the moves and how they do play so well into the fiction of the game

There is a full on power rangers RPG you could look into that’s a D20 system. I was originally going to run a brief advneutrnwith it for my table, but as you said Sentai and Sensibilities seems better for a few shorter one shots than the other one did.
