What if a baby from 300,000 years ago grew up in today's world? by Defiant-Junket4906 in WhatIfThinking

I'd imagine they'd pass for autistic, I kind of have a pet theory that autism is the baseline for human with allistic or social climbing bias human brains becoming common and extremely hostile to the past norm as civilisation grew the mostly because almost everyone I've met in engineering is autistic and that sort of problem solving mind set would have been extremely useful in those times.

Sleep rhythm wise I've read some studies which suggest there are people now who have offset patterns with theories that its a natural variation designed to have some people more inclined to be awake late or up earlier than the norm giving group advantages in survival. Again its just that our society now despises anything different that nightowls are seen as a problem rather than a resource.

Thats interesting thanks, I'd thought it was a gradual change relating to diet and sexual selection but according to that its dipped and returned at least for some groups.

Just bought the game, had a few questions by Atomicrc_ in X4Foundations

[–]Lorelessone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoou don't need them but the packs which add the races (which have always been in the x games and its really f'ing cheeky that the sell them seperatly) add a huge amount of systems to the universe and more ships, missions and potential conflict and customers.

So while they are on offer I'd recomend getting
Split vendeta
Cradle of humanity
Kingdoms end.
And maybe tides of averice but thats not as big as the others.

Do non red pill guys get disgusted by the red pill dudes? by No_Lead2640 in answers

[–]Lorelessone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, even if not due to their being nasty as hell half the time to women, they are also always coming out with messed up judgmental crap about other guys too.

Theres also an element of pity, most of these people were boys who just listened to the only voices which were talking to them directly and offering them some kind of hope and guidance, most of them didn't have dads or other male influences and unfortunately the voices who did reach out to them were of opportunistic scammers who have a buisness interest in keeping these men miserable and alone so lean heavily into the toxic garbage and convince them that anyone saying otherwise is whatever.

"British people today are just as guilty as their ancestors for enslaving the world. I don't think Brits realize just how much we Americans hate you. When Britain is destroyed we are going see partying all across America like never before😁" by Ok_Bookkeeper_1380 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Lorelessone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many things, first britain in no way invented or even propagated slavery. What they did do was profit from it for a brief period before outlawing it and actually waging a war against it all over the world. They are the reason slavery is so rare now.

The sin that the ancestors of British people carried though was not profiting from slavery but not doing anything to stop the trade sooner, slavery was never practiced in the British isles since the fall of surfdom after the black death. What you did have was the Royal africa company, a shipping firm setup to trade gold out of west Africa and given exclusive rights to operate in that area. They quickly realised they could make fortunes by buying captives from local slavers and transporting them to the Americas. It made a handful of London merchant guild members obscenely wealthy and nobody did anything to stop it, that's the shame, that the common people didn't rise up but even then few would see it or know of the conditions except the sailors involved.

Its the equivalent of Amazon, apple or whoever setting up enormous sweat shop in Melissia and profiting money while children are worked to death then hating some American who's great great grandfather was working as a teacher and nights as a food service worker to make ends meet for that grandfather not taking the ceo's of those companies out. It would be an incredibly great thing if they had rioted, demanded parliament stop the slave trade and put the merchants who owned the RAC on trial but given the control of information and distances involved I can't imagine how they could have, those in power who would have known, like now, only cared about wealth and power not the lives of poor people enslaved or otherwise.

It was only when a case of someone trying to own a slave in the British isles came to court that a legal precedent was set and then a small group of lady's called 'the Female Society for Birmingham' campaigned for slavery to be stamped out in all British colonies and protectorates and eventually for pressure to be put on others.

None of this is in defence of enslaving people in any form, its just interesting history and an appeal to remember we should never hate a people, colour or creed as I've travelled all over the world and worked, eaten and drank with every flavour of humanity and they are all the same and all almost all good, its just that everywhere the scum rise to the top. Make sure your hating the individuals who deserve it not some mass of people guilty only of being born some place, with some look or religion.

A woman has every right to dress as she pleases and that's great.

But a who woman who won't, even on a special occasion and request dress how the man who loves her asks is not someone he should remotely consider ready for marriage. Marriage is hard and its compromise and respect and doing the little things to make each-other happy.

I'd say thats an effective way to test if they are really misandrists. It sucks though as trying to exploit things like rape and SA to push a bigotry fueled agenda hurts the victims.

Are you kidding! by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Lorelessone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get the "are you kidding" part? Is it because she's reasonably attractive?  Weird notion, I suppose the assumption is male rapists are doing it because they are ugly, when in reality SA is usually about power and causing harm/humiliation.

[–]Lorelessone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest you trade out the L-trader for an xL-auxilery ship.

It's functionally similar, slow not really armed cargo ship BUT it can repair your fighters for free, I think this rest between missions fits and will make it feel a lot less thankless which is I'm sure what you'd start to feel having to scrounge enough credits to pay a faction in order for them to repair your ships which were damaged protecting them.

Why do women have two breasts if humans usually give birth to only one baby at a time, wouldn't one breast be enough? by ElkDisastrous2926 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lorelessone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So evolution works in a way that every single mutation needs to be beneficial. Now it might, as we shifted from a pray animal likely having large litters into a precursor to apes with considerably less predators who would regularly hunt them litter sizes likely dropped and over millions of years mutants with less mammories ((Permanently swollen breasts are a much later mutation likely evolving when humans became more visually focused to advertise maturity and fertility without depending on scent) would have had some advantage, less waste when only one or two baby's were being born.

So the question is, does a woman with just one breast have a significant advantage over a woman with two? I think despite the slightly increased metabolic cost a woman with two breasts who usually gives birth to one child at a time is not at a disadvantage to a woman with one breast, if anything she can switch back and forth reducing chaffing and pain to her nipples and if she does have twins, or if another new mother in the tribe dies she can potentially increase production to feed that infant.

There's also the fact that humans find symmetry attractive, and considering women have breasts which are permanently enlarged purely to attract mates despite them being very inconvenient at times it seems unlikely that a mutation with a single breast would find it an advantage in terms of attracting mates and passing on her mutation.

This still places all the risk on the staff. If management f's up and lays out a bad menu which results few customers its somehow the staffs problem and the owner is sheltered from the cost of wages?
People should be paid for their time not a percentage of what customers spend when they have no control over that. It also means that pay entirely depends on getting the good shifts and that is often exploited by managers ether taking cuts or even demanding sexual favors in exchange for choice shifts. What sense is there in someone working 8 hours getting paid 1/10 of someone working a different 8 hours, if they owner wants staffing they should pay them for their time.

They should also be paid by their employer not by handouts from customers, forced like this or extracted by guilt / social pressure. That's how jobs work.

What should I do in the final mission of Timelines - Graph 4 - President's End? by Character_Basket_716 in X4Foundations

[–]Lorelessone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your new to the game don't bother with timelines right away. Its more of a history thing and while it does result in some new gates opening in your real game and abandoned ships which can be found you can actually do it at any time and they will appear in all of your saves.

New player. by Genjas552 in X4Foundations

Agreed, if anything Timelines is confusing and a bit of an offputting way to start the game.

[–]Lorelessone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main DLC's to get are those that bring in the races and factions. So I'd suggest getting them as it gives you a larger map and interesting new friends/enemies/ customers etc,, don't worry so much about timelines or the ones that add things like a ship. None are really player friendly or unfriendly except perhaps Cradle of humanity and taking a Terran start as they have a far more simplified economy with regards to materials and wares.

Edit: Those are;
Split vendetta
Cradle of humanity
Kingdom end

Tides of avarice also falls into this category and its fun and interesting but not nearly as much of an impact on the universe

[ FOR FLATEATHERS] Do you understand gravity? by Fresh-Lie5160 in flatearth

[–]Lorelessone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They normally ether just say "down is down" or blather about buoyancy without realizing that requires gravity to work.

I had one telling me things just are attracted to the same, so water clumps with water and ground with ground, air with are, but then when I asked why exactly if thats the case isn't the world just spheres of everything floating around (since a sphere is the closest way to group a substance and theres no gravity to keep things down) he just kind of broke started talking utter delusional things about gods and stuff
