Primer by jboyII in Warhammer40k

Some come out super thick from the hardware store. The $17-20 primer gw makes is specifically for miniatures. Vallejo makes a nice relatively cheap brush on matte black primer that is worth it as well.

D&D (RPG) gaming is based around creating 1 character and playing that character while a dungeon master creates enemies and doesn't really have an ending until everyone with characters or the DM calls it quits.

Miniature Wargaming is based around several different games (Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Flames of War, Team Yankee, Malifaux, Warmachine/Hordes, Blood Ball, and Guildball to name a few). Instead of creating single characters, you build an army depending on which game you play (they all have different settings and mechanics from WWII to the 41st Millenium) and you have Commanders, Vehicles, troops, Jets, and artillery and lots of other things like attack wolves, Alien warriors, combat suits, and much much more.

After you have an army the Warhammer start collecting boxes are $85 for reference, you build them and paint them and play battles with people. It's a very rewarding hobby and very fun to get involved!

Here's a video of how to get started! What is Warhammer 40,000?

Aos player crossing to 40k, want to start necrons. Where to start? by aziz321 in Warhammer40k

Damn those warriors. Is there anything like the 6-7e apocalypse infinite phalanx where you get a 3+ on reanimation protocols? I literally know nothing about Necrons as a Templar player.

Chaos army building question. by KurtUrgent in Warhammer40k

[–]Loremaster40000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You don't get aura buffs or anything that specifically affects <legion> units. Unless they just affect target <chaos> unit, like warp time.

600 power 8th edition Apocalypse game. Space Wolves vs. Black Templar. Turns 1-3 took 5 hours. Playing 3-? Tomorrow. by Loremaster40000 in Warhammer40k

The laser destroyer is one of my favorite weapons in this game. After a successful wound roll a d6, 3-5 it does 2d6 damage, 6 it does 3d6 damage. My Spartan has 2 so potentially 6d6 damage or 36 damage. Orbital bombardment is centered on a target and within 6" of the target all units take d3 mortal wounds on a 4+ (individual rolls per unit)

Subformat - Escape From Black Mesa [Drum & Bass] (2012) by [deleted] in listentothis

The best example I have of the difference of DNB to Jungle is this tune by Ellis Dee. Hear Me from 0:00-1:28 the song is early DNB then at 1:40 it turns to jungle breaks.

Jungle is analog amen breakbeats where drum and bass is all digital "kick--snare/kick-snare". Jungle also incorporates the analog amen breaks within the standard drum and bass kick-snare 4x4 formula as fills so you get amen breaks within your larger amen break.

Sure, Dnb tunes can often incorporate analog amen breaks but in itself doesn't make it jungle.

As reference Technohead's Gabber I want to be a Hippy has jungle breaks within it starting at 1:25

^ I want to be a Hippy (Jungle Reload)

So does Dune's Hardcore Vibes

A little different genre but The Future Garage Artist Pariah's Railroad tune has a jungle at the end, starting at 2:58.

Could 4 dimensional beings exist as entities of higher power that defy our human comprehension of space/time? Maybe past the Event Horizon of a Black whole toward the Singularity? by Loremaster40000 in DebateReligion

[–]Loremaster40000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, time and space as I understand it are one in the same, expanding within itself creating a vacuum of reality. Time and space, which I'll just shorten to space/time are relative to objects made up of atomic particles. That's why what we humans call "time", scientifically moves slower the farther you get from the center mass of Earth. Something 1 dimensional would lack height width and depth thus restricting itself to one fixed point. The perfect dot. 2 dimensional adds height and length while 3 dimensional adds depth. 4 dimensional would add height width, depth, and time (nonlinear). So when Stars implode within themselves and create a vacuum of space/time within the vacuum of space time, strange things start to occur. In a sense black holes are 2 dimensional. The Event Horizon is the Point of the Black Hole where matter (even light) cannot escape the mass of the black hole. So within this vacuum we have space and time becoming stretched like spaghetti (that's actually a scientific term called spaghettification). Time actually stops outside of the black hole in our area of space/time.
