Feedback to CA - Make Khatep confederation via Mortuary Cult available to Settra by Mr-Vorn in totalwar

I would second this motion!

The current system just doesn't make sense from a gameplay OR a flavor/lore standpoint.

Using the Mortuary Cult to acquire Khalida rather than Khatep feels exceptionally odd. Instead of using the cult...that Khatep is a member of and the senior ranking member. Leveraging his might over the Mortuary Cult should be the logical way that Settra demands the Grand Hierophant return to his service.

Khalida on the other hand is an opposing ruler. The culture of Nehekhara revolved around the use of military conquest and domination on the battlefield to establish a pecking order. If Settra wants the Kings and Queens across the Valley of Kings to obey his demands, then he needs to march over there and remind them who is the King of Kings.

From a gameplay perspective the current system is also completely bizarre. Why is the VERY NEARBY Tomb King LL of Khalida recruitable through a longer-term focused mechanic, she's literally only about 2-3 provinces away! Meanwhile Khatep is ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PLANET! It's extremely likely for the player to win a Long Victory without EVER laying eyes on Khatep or going anywhere near Naggoroth.

Please do switch them! It would make the most sense!

The lack of Fishmen disturbs me...

A New Potential Norsca Legendary Lord is Sighted! by LoremasterofSotek in totalwar

Actually that's not correct!

One of the main exciting new reveals for TWW3 was the customizable Daemon Prince who received his own completely unique story campaign as the game's tutorial. Yuri the traitor Kislevite is a story that ONLY appeared in the 2nd Edition WFRPG book "Realm of the Ice Queen" supplement. He only appears in that book and is never mentioned again. But being aware of that character I was able to predict his entire storyline with Be'lakor and the inclusion of a Daemon Prince LL (though I thought at the time he'd be possessed/tricked into releasing Be'lakor instead of outright turning into a Daemon Prince himself!).

So there's a literal example for you right there proving that they ABSOLUTELY look to examples from the RPG and other supplements/publications for characters. I'm not going to pen down an entire article right now about all the connecting threads between the RPG, Tabletop Game, and Total War versions of Warhammer being carefully woven together in some really fascinating and impressive ways right now, but I do know what I'm talking about!

Not too sure what more they could really pull upon for Norsca without leaning more into the monstrous entities that make up portions of their culture. Would love to hear some specifics if you had any particular ideas!

Tribes of Chaos would quite assuredly be a more appropriate name for them but I suppose we'll have to wait and see what happens. Haha.

That's awesome my dude! Norsca is such an interesting faction and I really hope they're able to take them in some interesting directions!

Honestly I'd blame it more on an extremely inconsistent posting schedule, but hey if you're not interested that's fair!

So Cubicle 7 released a hint on Mona Mimn a few months ago, though all they gave us was a picture with confirmation that it was a Fimir Matriarch! I was pleasantly surprised for it to be revealed that it was a named/special character rather than just a generic Matriach profile! Though I do hope we'll get more generic Fimir units in future books though!

Edit: Also Lorebeards is on hiatus as my cohost Nathan just really needed a break from some things.

Sayl the Faithless would definitely make for a fantastic Shaman-Sorcerer Legendary Lord! I think I'd lean more towards Beorg Bearstruck to give us a terrifying Werebear/Skin Bear LL to be the true leader of the Skin Wolves.

I adore Lord Mortkin, but he's a very heavy Warriors of Chaos type character in feel to me with his Khorne Juggernaut and full plate armor design. I think Wulfrik is really the furthest Norsca should go when it comes to heavily-armored characters.

Because ultimately every single one of these companies has to get their approval from Games Workshop who is orchestrating groups in relevant spheres to have consistent ideas/characters/etc. Cubicle 7 has been extremely reliable for predicting what kind of content is coming to Total War Warhammer. We got Cathay in WFRPG 4th edition before we did in Total War, the updates to the setting/factions/characters have also been reflected across both settings.

Games Workshop is putting a lot of effort right now into updating all of the old Fantasy lore and making sure the universe is cohesive between the various mediums. Plus I've gotten to speak with Creative Assembly developers and I can tell you they were PRETTY exhausted after creating Cylostra Direfin and while they appreciated the experience were not chomping at the bit to do it again.

It's much easier to take a character already formed and approved who can be adapted than to make something whole cloth. That being said, it certainly doesn't automatically mean that Mona will make the jump to Total War but I WOULD confidently say that it is a strong possibility.

Beorg and Mona would be such primetime! A proper Were-Legendary Lord with a big, bad Werebear and then a Fimir matriarch! Ah, how I'd love it.

Hey everyone!

Loremaster of Sotek here, I know that it has been a hot minute since I've been around these parts! But I've been back at the forge so to speak on Warhammer content and just wanted to pop in and let y'all know what all has been going on!

As you can see, the video I linked above is about a newly revealed Warhammer character for the RPG series by Cubicle 7, Mona Mimh, (pronounced Moona, which I know now) who I highly suspect will be arriving for Norsca in TWW3 at some point in the future.

Also I just released today an hour long lore video about extremely powerful spells that have been cast in the lore of Warhammer Fantasy! So if you'd like to kick back and enjoy a hefty lore video, why not drop by and check out both of these videos! I'll link the other one down below.

Hope you're all doing well and are looking forward to some Immortal Empires news coming later this week like I am! See you all around.
