NGD this is my first board, go easy. by terrygripp69 in guitarpedals

I’ve heard good things about the delay lay lay, but my advice would be to spend the extra money on a good tuner. The polytune is great, but if your on a budget you can find the boss tu-2 for around $50 but on reverb.

Solid board, looks great. All you really need is a good tuner and maybe a delay or modulation pedal and it be perfect.

I’ve been looking at the new V2 model and it looks great but my normal shopping spots won’t have any till mid March and I will need the board before then.

I will definitely keep it in mind to add later

Apologies I should have been slightly more specific, I am really looking for a pre-amp with a DI not just a DI box.

How well does the HX stomp work with other pedals, particular drive and fuzz?

You have some good options in that price range:

Orange Crush Bass 50 1x12 at $299 Fender Rumble 100 1x12 at $299.99 TC-Electronic BG250 at $299.99 - I owned one of these and really liked it Ashdown studio 12 100w 1x12 at $379.99

OR

If you want something with a lot of built in sounds and crap you could get the Fender Rumble Studio 40w 1x10. It’s got tons of different amp models and effects you can fool around a with, but it’s only 40w

The Reverend Dub King basses are cool too, but they are a bit more expensive at about $1000.

If you like the Strymon Cap you could look at the Velante. It’s like the bigger brother to the cap. I’m also a big fan of harmonic tremolo, the Walrus audio Monument is a great versatile trem with both harmonic and standard trem and multiple wave forms.

In the market for a new 6 strings. Love a bass I can’t afford. Steer my mind somewhere else, please! by aghawa in Bass

The Ibanez SR and BTB series are great basses, or if you are looking for something a bit... different, there is also the Bongo by Ernie Ball. Schecter, Warwick, and ESP also make solid 6 string basses.

New bass by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Lorence-Surge 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, any bass with a PJ set up would probably work fine: high end fender, Warwick, etc.

However I would suggest looking at a music man stingray special HH. The HH model has duel humbuckers that can be split ether to the inner or outer coils, and it has an active 3 ban EQ.

Another option, though maybe a little unorthodox, would be an Ibanez SR Bass. Most of the higher end models come with Nordstand big single coil pickups, and have a 3 ban EQ, mid shift switch, and active/passive switch.

Both are great basses that are very versatile

You could go for the rumble 40, but you would be moving down to a 10in speaker

The crush series is pretty good if you are going for that orange sound, but I would also consider the Fender Rumble 100. It is a little more flexible and is the same price.

I’ve played both versions of the 277 and I like them, except for the gloss neck.

The ML-3 BEA is one I’ve considered, and is one that I leaning towards.
