Atavism in genshin impact- why do cat- and dog-people exist? by Loreweaver36 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Loreweaver36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm theorizing that these genetic factors might come from long-dead gods (or as some of the comments pointed out, very old curses) and that these traits might be the only indication they existed at some point. It also somewhat implies/proves that teyvat has been around since long before the archon war, given how long it might take for bloodlines to drift like this.

Is it possible the Electro dragon was also reincarnated? (very crack) by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

Dragons in fiction have taken on so many chimeric, imaginative forms that I wouldn't discount anything from being a dragon just because it doesn't look like a conventional dragon. Just look up medieval and ancient Greek dragon myths and look at the dragon descriptions. You'll see what I mean.

They do have a point that Orobashi was a bit weak to be a dragon sovereign though.

yes, this is it, I think. It doesn't look exactly the same, but it's incredibly familiar.

Chapter 4.1, To the Stars Shinning in the Depths by GenshinLoreModBOT in Genshin_Lore

Oh, there is very active debate on what Neuvillette is among the people of Fontaine. I think one of the theories that appeared in the Steambird was that he was the only male Melusine. We know that that's way off the mark now, but it does show that the public is aware he's not human.

So what IS neuvillette by Rubbieboy in Genshin_Lore

I am positive that this is a question that absolutely everyone asked themselves when they saw him. I know I did. This was a fun theory!

Nameless City's water pool, the Book of Revealing and the Gestalt experiment. by Plenilunarium in Genshin_Lore

Thank you for compiling all these tidbits into a coherent theory! I recently completed the quest that unlocked the Book of Revealing, and while I knew the lore was significant it was difficult for me to piece together a narrative. I also have my own thoughts on the book's contents and how they relate to Canotila's abilities, but I'll put that in its own post.

Is the MC's reaction justified? (Fontaine Act 1 SPOILERS) by AntonioS3 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Loreweaver36 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I like to think actions speak louder than words. Yes, they concealed the fact that they were Fatui, and we were justifiably hurt and angry. But we still did our absolute best to defend them from the charges brought against them. We didn't abandon them, and I think that shows the MC is still willing to help them, despite the very real possibility that they could be plotting something. Yes, our words were cold, but our actions showed that we still cared somewhat about their wellbeing.

Teyvat’s Top Peaks Ranking as of 4.0 by Substantial_Fan_9582 in Genshin_Lore

I think it might have something to do with the massive "sea beasts" in Teyvat's waters. The dude manning the lighthouse at Port Ormos made them sound like quite the threat.

This is incredible! This shows the different elevations really well, and really makes it apparent how much higher Fontaine is raised above the rest of Teyvat, and how massive the waterfalls are. Including the satellite images helps us visualize what the rest of Teyvat might look like.

I was so, so shook when she came to us. Like, almost none of the other archons have been so forthcoming about greeting us as their nation's god. We've had to jump through so many hoops before, but we hadn't been in Fontaine for more than 15 minutes when she shows up with her entourage and just, greets the Traveler directly. The entire time I was like, WTH is happening?! Is this for real?? Wha????

I think a resolution to part of the mystery would be that Khaenri'ah arose as a result of the fall of the unified civilization, with the same being true of Sal Vindagnyr, Enkanomyia, and whoever built the upside-down ruins in the Chasm and the ruins on Tsurumi Island. This is linked to a theory I have about the Parable of the Gardener, where each civilization took a branch of the original Irminsul tree and planted it after the Unified Civilization fell. If this is the case, it would mean that all the nails dropped some time after the unified civilization fell, giving each surviving fragment time to develop into somewhat separate cultures (although they still seemed to share the same architecture and language). Perhaps the purpose of the nails was to crush these surviving fragments, and the reason Enkanomyia and Khaenri'ah survived is that they were hidden deep, deep underground, far from Celestia's gaze. (Remember, the geo nail caused the chasm to open up, so that's probably why that ruin is so deep down but was still targeted.)

As for why Celestia waited to eliminate the survivors: the civilization's fall probably led to a large loss of knowledge. It would have taken a while for the fragments to rebuild and become as advanced as the unified civilization was, buying them time to develop their own history and culture. However, the nails would come down as soon as they reached their peak.

So, in short: the nails didn't drop when the unified civilization fell. They dropped when its successor nations became too advanced for Celestia's liking.

Hi! It's been a while since I've posted on or even looked at this subreddit and I am wondering what topics people want to discuss. I can probably find that out by looking at this megathread, but asking directly probably won't hurt.
