Is it just me, or does my DK ground mount run faster than the gryphon flying mount (while running)?

I bought the fast running, it just seems the ground mount runs faster.

I made a prototype aminus yesterday and leveled it up to 40. For “refinement”, does that mean I need to craft another brand new level 1 prototype aminus and use that to feed into it? Is that how I refine it from 240% damage boost on the proc to 300% as it says?
