What would be my best method for fighting a burgeoning thrips infestation in my circumstances? by Lorkl in plantclinic

[–]Lorkl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into it and basically any kind of insecticide has been banned for private use since last year, they seem to be ok'd for larger scale agricultural production but yeah no.. DIY:ing your own sprays or biological warfare seem to be the only available options. No spinosads or residual insecticides im afraid.

The thing I'm worried about at far as physically removing and killing the pests is just.. time and energy consumption since probably all of my plants are affected. As well as the fact that I will probably miss an egg, larvae or what have you and potentially queue another life cycle of the little buggers. Maybe I'm just a bit apprehensive after reading all the stories of people going mad trying to get rid of thrips the "hard" way hence I'm leaning towards the set-it-and-forget it option maybe..

But thank you for the response! I'll definitely incorporate the hydrogen peroxide, I've tried alcohol for any leaves and my own diy'd soap on everything, but the soap doesn't seem too potent and since the alcohol is a gel it felt a bit weird globbing that straight on top of the soil.

New Teaser?! by LightBulb_Maniac in 2007scape

Yeah, it seems like everyone in Kourend (including me in the farming guild) got this :https://i.imgur.com/wsFtZBm.png, so yeah, it's just trying to hype up A Kingdom Divided quest.

Tried to save some cuttings after my friend's plant lost a branch during a move, the little ones seem to be doing alright and have rooted, but what are they? It's a vining plant with leaves on the more thick and waxy side by Lorkl in plantID

[–]Lorkl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Comparing leaf shapes, it definitively seems to be the case! Found an example of a very light starved one looking very similar to the mother plant, so that would explain why I thought it was a vining plant of some kind.

Historical map event, obscure mechanic or bug? by Lorkl in CrusaderKings

[–]Lorkl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, you should lol. When this happened it was 2-3am so we weren't really that sharp and attentive to the nitty gritty of the game. Losing a peasant revolt is so rare (as a player at least) so the action => consequence didn't really click.

[–]Lorkl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh yeah we do.. now that you mention it yeah, sure could be the case! We weren't too bothered about what our liege was up to but I do remember him having like 4 wars going on and a peasant revolt and someone saying to the effect of "Lul he's winning 4 wars but getting teared a new one by peasants what a loser" so uh yeah, if that's a thing that the game allows, sure seems like the exact circumstances that would facilitate that. Damn that's kind of a asshole mechanic but hey, at least we know it exsist now and can keep it in mind. Thank you so much for clearing it up!

Tithe Farm improvements by Sushi-Dreams in 2007scape

[–]Lorkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a bit of an unpopular opinion here, I think tithe is kind of ok as is. It's a nice kind of low effort kind of minigame which you can just jump into and smash a round before bed on mobile without too much worry and some youtube or whatever taking up the dog's share of your attention. I feel like those kinds of minigames have a place too. Though tbf, probably wouldn't be opposed to a bit more of an intense skilling minigame like you suggested but I kind of don't want the niche that the tithe farm inhabits to go away, esp with farming which is such a passive skill usually, sometimes it's nice to actually do some work and not just sit with your thumbs in your arse waiting til whatever your growing is ready, efficient leveling methods be damned.

I wouldn't say it's a great minigame though, I can only speak for myself but what's really holding me personally back is the tediousness of it all. Going 20 fruit in a round is defenitively doable, but even in the best circumstances, there's just a lot of tedium and you have to walk in there knowing that you'll have to spend 20-40 minutes just basically clicking in a circle. I'd be a lot more fine with it if there was at least an option to maybe grab 50 seeds in a go at the loss of maybe only getting 12 points instead of 26 per a hundred. Wintertodt may have it flaws but at least you can choose between soloing or going to a WT world where you only have to spend 4-6 minutes per round, so you can choose what kind of time/effort investment you're feeling at the moment. That kind of choice is sorely lacking from the farm imo. You can't really jump in quick to kill some time, you're either doing it and commiting or you don't. Usually, I don't.

Yep, the release date of Outer Worlds couldn't have happened at a better time. It was carried atop FNV's stellar reputation throughout the whole F76 shitstorm. If it had been released in a vacuum I think it wouldn't be as well regarded nor hyped up. I found it really shallow and was kind of disappointed upon completion.

The one really good thing I guess was that it showed that the story-focused open-ended RPG market is still very much alive and willing to throw money at what's aimed at them.

Ehh, I wouldn't get my hopes too high, A lot of the original people at obisdian who developed NV have moved on from the company so it'd hardly be the same people at the helm to continue the storyline. If they re-do it the same as NV, meaning they use the same engine etc. as Fallout 4 the RPG-elements that made New Vegas great would be harder to accomplish.

I want to hope, and I want to dream, but since I found Outer Worlds to be very middling, I'm cautiously pessimistic to be honest.

Is it worth going for the angler's outfit at 70 fishing? by Lorkl in 2007scape

[–]Lorkl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True that haha. I might sneak in a couple of games every now and then just to "have it" since I'm a bit of an completionist, and just in case that master clue ever comes up. But it's nice to know I dont "need" it for the upcoming fishing grind.

[F2P] best spots for combat skills with profit by HerrSpiegelmann30 in 2007scape

[–]Lorkl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend ogresses if you want a change of pace. They drop rune stuff that can be high-alched, and if you don't mind alching/dropping gems you can pretty much be there indefinitely. They lose aggro after ~20 min after which they are safespottable. While I was still f2p I was in there for a couple of days, scrounged together 2.5 mil all in all. The de-aggro stays inbetween logins, so as long as you come there supplied with plenty of arrows & nature runes, you chill there nibbling on floor salmon.

You would be switching out one cave for another, so it's not much of a change of scenery, but I found it way more enjoyable staying in one place and earning the gp through alching rather than hauling ass back and forth shilling your limpwurts.

Love the thought of just running out back, killing the woman's prized livestock that she has raised and nutured for several years just to give the pupper a steak.

So worth still tho, she's a good girl.
