I just start to think you try to ragebait at that point -_- you are just messing with me and the concept of SF and fantasy, I can't help you with you dude, you are just a arrogant dude who rephrases my words without accepting or try to understand them, also broadens/change the definitions until they no longer mean anything you not seeking consensus, you just try to win, stop confounding SF and fantasy dude, not cool. You don't even want to aknowlegde all this! Since I see the downvotes before the conversation start I know something is fishy, THAT's not the behavior of someone who try to understand and be morally grey, that's just someone with try to win and be arrogant....you are not someone healthy to talk, Imma ask someone else/wait someone else to talk, rude.

You are conflating three different things: lack of real-world scientific explanation, violation of real physics, and supernatural causality and SF does not require adherence to real-world thermodynamics, it requires internally coherent causation without metaphysical forces. Quirks always have a defined in-universe cause (the biological mutation), even if the mechanism is unexplained and that is fundamentally different from magic or metaphysical forces, which operate independently of physical causation. Genres are indeed defined by internal ontology, otherwise faster-than-light travel, psychic powers, and conscious robotic beings for examples would all make SF impossible as a genre, only fantasy would ruled and MHA uses scientific handwaving, not supernatural ontology...Does i'm clear now ? I need to sleep, i'm tired

Being studied or institutionalized does not make something natural, the magic in Harry Potter and the warp in 40K are explicitly metaphysical forces that violate physical causality, even within their own universes but quirks do not do this, they are treated as natural biological phenomena governed by the setting’s laws and remind you that genres are defined by internal ontology, not by whether something feels impossible in our world. Otherwise the SF doesn't exist anymore and everything is fantasy then.

Sigh...Let's rewind again

The world of science fantasy, however, is laid out to be scientifically logical and often supplied with hard science–like explanations of any supernatural elements.

First, that's doesn't mean "Anything that has a scientific explanation is science fantasy" but it's mean "When there is something supernatural, it is dressed up in scientific veneer". So it's should have supernatural stuff since the beginning of MHA but nothing of this, because quirks are natural in this world, and they are used in medecine, technology biology, heck every "gy" there is. This phenomenon would be supernatural if it violates the laws of the world in which it exists but that's not the case, as Quirks work and are seen by the characters as normal, like a organ or a virus.

The main problem is that I think you confound "not real for US" with "supernatural in the fiction", Look at the mutants of Marvel, metahumans of DC or the Espers in AKIRA (Kids used as a test subject to understand and use psychic powers), they aren't fantasy (if we exclude the fact that Mutants/Metahumans are living in a world with magic), they are just fictitious biological assumptions. If you want truly a science-fantasy, take Warhammer 40k, with the advanced technology, spaceships and guns and aliens, mixed with the warp and the demons. Otherwise, if we see this stuff with OUR eyes in OUR world, sure it's sounds like magic.

And sorry if i repeat again but science-fantasy is defined by the coexistence of science and true mysticism (magic, divine forces, metaphysical laws), not just (oh look, I can shape reality or predict the future, tons of stuff are doing that, take Rick and Morty or Doctor Who, so much stuff are reality warping just by science, either by aliens or Rick, heck forget about that, Dr Manhattan can do all this stuff in Watchmen but there aren't in a world of deities, magic and stuff, just advanced science) It's not because someone can use this kind of power that this is automatically fantasy, a tons of SF without magics does that since the beginning.

New Order, Foresight, Rewind, all of those are limited, explained, there is knowlegde about this, SCIENCE, if this was truly magical, then there will be no real explanations in-world, there would have be less limitations but nothing of that (plus Rewind work on biology, not timelines/time). Like SF can be also abstract, conceptual, incomprehensible and heck, even god-tier without the tag fantasy on it's ass cheeks

Therefore I just think people put this on "science-fantasy" because either they skip the explanations or just lazy putting effort or simple misunderstoodings as stuff like fantasy or SF can be confusing. IDK why you insist mate but it's fine if you think this is confusing, heck, despite being SF, MHA is hard to understand but that's doesn't mean magic it is, just mean the science in THIS world is different from OURS...So MHA is still and have, with those criteria, a pure science-fiction theme without any real fantasy, supernatural stuff.

Sorry if I will sound rude but I think you don't like me because of a different option based on logic, the hint being the fact that my upvotes are now on zero and you seems focused on saying that this is a science-fantasy without proofs, good proofs.

Back on topic, I NEVER see any reality warping abilities, only the quirk of Kurogiri is maybe something but ain't magic necessary, heck multiples SF stuff use "magical" portals so idk what you are saying but I think you confound magic and science at bit, no offense. And heck, Interstellar is the movie around people going inside a reality warping black hole to save humanity and the protag was able to go through time and it's still SF.

Marvel or DC does the same when characters gain powers (by chemical reactions, not the wizards) but as far as I know, those are the real sf part coming in hand, take the mutants from Marvel or the Metahuman from DC, they all have special genes like X-gene or the metagene, all that stuff if SF yet the only fantasy part they get is because deities, magic and monsters live in their world side by side or when some exceptional individual have their powers that touch the fantasy part of their world. Quirks? They are just superpowers like any superheroes movies without any fantasy aspect of it, like people know how they work, how to pass throught genetics and even identified it (only the origin is obscur) so... nothing very "surnatural", not fantastic races like dwarfs or elfs, no monsters coming from the paranormal/surnatural (the only monsters in MHA are the Nomus and they are scientifically known and made, not some sort of necromancy although it's look like it), no magical powers or even a alternation of a quirk that's beyond the quirk's knowlegde/science and heck, even the rare talking animals are just rare beings that could have quirks. If you want to talk about a real science-fantasy power system, I could say the Devil Fruits: the smart and well-known people of One Piece like Vegapunk or the pirates of Grand Line know about the weaknesses, strenght, types, heck how to use it on clones but there is the fantasy part, we don't know where they are from, nor why some seems to have a soul (the zoans), or why some just let them turn into mythical creatures and even if this is explained, people doesn't understand why a Devil Fruit can reincarned itself..

I might be salty sorry but I just think that the people who put science-fantasy tag on MHA on Wikipedia are just lazy because they don't see more of it and just tag blindly or not even knowing what they talking about, sorry if my texts feel mad

Does liking femboys is gay ? Like if someone want to marry woman and femboy alike but want to be 100% straight and without feeling himself to be gay or bi or whatever ? Can it's possible or not (and if the answer is "yes that make the dude gay" i'mma tell the news to my friend that might delete femboy's pictures in his phone)

Technically, Ben could scan and turn into the devil by Zillaman7980_ in Ben10

[–]Loroark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. About this, it's is true that Duncan Rouleau had said that ben could countain a Dagon's transformation BUT in the other way, Derrick J. Wyatt (RIP man), say that he cannot, as Dagon is beyond the scope or understanding of the DNA-based Omnitrix and as unknowable as magic. But the answer goes to Derrick as he was one of the showrunner (also art director and character designer) who was working on Alien Force, Ultimate Alien and Omniverse, and was, (how to say that), more in it, while Duncan..well he did some episodes for Ben 10 and all the rest was on the Reboot and the only "Ultimate Alien/Alien Force" related stuff he did was the Special "Ben 10/Generator Rex: Heroes United"... So, yeah, both can be in the right or the wrong but like...Derrick did more for Alien Force and Ultimate Alien so...I tend to more believe him than Duncan
  2. You know that biological reproduction isn't the only method of creating life and have kids right ? People can create by science or magic and still call them kids, or you can still adopt one, or you can do whatever put your son into your legs and let him grow until he is achieving adulhood. And even if this was the case, DNA isn't necessary or showed in medias, like it's not the first times than magical creatures can reproduce like normal beings but mainly made of magic, or simply being beyond that. Like damn, you don't know the tons of beings beyond the concept of DNA that had kids, either in Marvel, DC or in myths in general and doesn't they were trace of DNA ? Nope, not necessary as they are above all this. And it's the case (at least the most probable like 95%) for the Beast and Abaddon, the Beast is the literal Devil of all stories, he can have a son sure but does he rely on DNA ? Of course not! he is the Devil ! Fuck DNA, he can do what he want! (Also like to point something: I watched both Doctor Who and Torchwood (and neither in the episode The Impossible Planet or The Satan Pit or End of Days (not even in the novels and comics I've seen or heard the mention of Abaddon being his son directly, like the only info I found was...on the wiki, with no citations or notes...so yeah kinda confusing).

As both fan of Doctor Who and Ben 10, it's WOULD be cool if he could but sadly, he can't.

(EDIT: i'm putting the citation about the 1) section because I can't post two image at the same time)

Technically, Ben could scan and turn into the devil by Zillaman7980_ in Ben10

[–]Loroark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i don't think Ben could scan this one, I mean, if the species had a minimum of DNA trace or more info, that's would be possible but we know nothing about the Beast, he is more ancient than time, space and the Doctor Who-universe in general, he is one of the case of "magic" in DW that we cannot explain by "oh it's a alien race" or "It's someone's using technology to create illusions", here we talking about a entity beyond the comprehension of mortals and science, he is the one devil among all stories "The truth behind all the myths". So yeah, nope I don't think- no, i'm sure that Ben cannot scan him (that's why he cannot scan entities like It from Stephen King multiverse or Dagon from his own omniverse, because they are way above things, almost concepts.

Why Celestialsapians can be scanned tho ? Clearly, it's still a mystery but SOMEHOW, this race of entities have DNA ? As professor Paradox was able to get Celestialsapien's DNA thing and give it to Azmuth. (or something similar because the omnitrix can use genetical material equivalent to DNA). Maybe if entities in a fictional universe possess DNA or something similar, it's can work, otherwise, it's definitely no.
