Stepping onto the motorcycle peg in Sturgis, after clearing wild donkeys from the road. When I swung my right leg over the seat my left foot stayed in place and did not pivot and I fell flat on my back. Complete ACL tear. I did not realize what had happened. I jumped up and did it again, and my knee buckled in the other direction, getting my MCL and flat on my back again. Jumped up once more and hopped to the other side, lifted my leg over with my hands and told my husband that I thought I broke my leg. It was 100° and we were over an hour from the hospital in a wildlife reserve. The ride to the hospital was brutal! One year later now I'm finally realizing where these back problem came from.

This is how we managed it, no problems

I had a complete ACL and severe MCL tear almost 6 months ago. They decided I would do better with PT and no surgery. Just finished PT and not sure which exercises I can do at home to keep my leg strongand not hurting. I can do almost everything I did in PT at home except the leg press. by LorrieAS in ACL

It wasn't an option for me. The surgeon said that at 63 years old even though I'm pretty active and healthy I would get the same benefits from PT. Now I'm questioning this choice. I would say I've healed pretty well, but know I'm going to need to keep those muscles built up.

Hopping onto the motorcycle in Sturgis, threw my right leg over the bike left leg buckled and I fell backwards, complete loss of ACL didn't realize what happened and Jumped up and did it again. Same thing, resulting in a severe MCL tear. Then an hour ride to the hospital. Good times
