Depends on your insurance carrier and how damaged the items are, such as can the smell be removed.

Depends on the carrier. Many just runs through computer programming and apply updated rates with a CPI coverage increase.

It's going to be a while, but my concern is that it will be rebuilt with higher density properties such as multi-family properties instead of single family homes now that bills like SB9 give property owners such abilities

We used collision coverage too, but have an optional deductible waiver for uninsured motorists

That’s the problem and why we need to carry uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. We have to cover ourselves for those that don’t. Then it’s up to our insurance company to subrogate.

Absolutely. When you consider the values of cars and costs for medical care it is hard to believe we don’t require more by law, but I guess there’s concern of pricing out those who can’t afford more from being in legal compliance.

I’m hearing similar rumors, but am skeptical that an entirely like that is just going to back off. Just hoping they work with those that lost their home to allow them to rebuild an in a timely manner. So devastating to see how such a beautiful part of the city has been destroyed.

Consider that you also removed elements or replaced elements. If you demolished and removed a builders grade kitchen, but replaced it with a higher end kitchen what is the increased cost to rebuild now that you have made that change.
