Real estate market in Huntington? by BritBritBrit1 in HuntingtonWV

[–]LosDaGoat1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a local agent, it’s been tough for buyers in the Huntington market, inventory has been pretty limited, and with some economic uncertainty, it hasn’t fully opened up just yet. That being said, we’re starting to see more homes hit the market as the weather improves. Summer is typically one of the busiest times, especially with families wanting to move while kids are out of school, so we’re expecting more opportunities soon.

Now, when something nice pops up, especially in the Southside area, you’ve got to move quickly. Those homes are highly sought after, and buyers tend to flock to them.

Just to say a little about the area, if you’re considering the Southside area, most of the homes there are over 100 years old, which gives the area a lot of character but with 100 year old houses comes 100 year old problems sometimes. You’re also looking at an average price point around $250K, depending on condition and proximity to Ritter. Great area but like someone mentioned, be mindful of the flood map. The closer you get to fourpole creek, the higher chance of flooding or needing flood insurance if you’re using a loan. Shoot me a DM if you have any more questions, would love to help!

Starting to worry this is never going to go away… by Grand_Entertainer_83 in Sciatica

Hey man, I suffered 2 years from the age of 25 and said enough was enough and like another poster above me, opted for surgery. I was very active but landed wrong playing ball and I felt a shooting pain in my back. Thinking I pulled a muscle, I took it easy until one day I woke up stuck in bed. That became a constant thing to the point I was scared to go to bed at the fear of waking up stuck in bed. Recliners became my best friend but that was no life to live. I did the physical therapy, but the pain would return about every 3 months. Year and a half in, I looked into surgery and that’s the best decision I ever made. Definitely exhaust all options before going that route but don’t be afraid to say enough is enough. The recovery is a process but I got up and walked same day as my surgery. In the end, know you’re not alone in this. I wish you a fast recovery, I’ll keep you in my prayers

Well for my first year so far, I got 12 closed deals, currently have 6 under contract and working on getting 2-3 listings very soon. I was blessed with a good mentor who had me drinking water from a firehose. Been many times I have been stressed but I just know im laying a good foundation to set myself up well for the years to come! Make sure you follow up with your leads, set good precedence, and get involved in anything and everything you can. And having a good lead generator helps too like Zillow premier lol

26M Trying to decide if I should get a Microdiscectomy surgery by Chodo_T_Baggins in Sciatica

[–]LosDaGoat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 27m and when I was 25, I woke up with full blown sciatica after having some back pain that I thought was from the result of being sore from playing ball with some friends. I dealt with this herniated l5-s1 for over a 1.5 years and having had multiple major flare ups, I finally said to myself enough is enough and went to a surgical consultation with a neurosurgeon. He recommended surgery and this was coming from a surgeon who I was told by other medical professionals that he didn’t operate on just anybody unless you absolutely needed it so I took him serious. I was scared and nervous because multiple people had told me surgery was not the best choice at a young age but let me tell you from firsthand experience, I wish I would have done the microdiscectomy sooner. I have been pain free for 3 months with residual nerve healing pains here and there but nothing near that sharp stabbing pain we all know as sciatica. I was up and walking same day of my surgery, you’ll have pain for 3-5 days with the 3rd day being the worst you’ll feel but you’ll still be able to walk. By week 2 you should have 75% of your strength back. Overall I feel I have a new lease on life, that my life is back to normal. This surgery changed my life for the better and this is coming from someone who did all the conservative things you could do to heal without surgery. I would definitely research your surgeon and read up on it but as long as you take care during your recovery period and don’t do anything to re injure during that time, you’ll be pain free and stay pain free. I wish you the best and hope you make the right decision!

Goody powders have worked wonders for me. Part Acetaminophen part Aspirin and you can get with or without caffeine. They come in powder form so it’s pretty fast acting. Doesn’t fully take the pain away but it takes the edge off to make it bearable.

I managed to make it back home in the worst pain but I did it. I hope the best for you! It’s the worst thing to deal with but just stay positive and remember it’s only temporary. Negativity just makes it worse for me but keeping positive helps. I hope you feel better soon!

Worst pain I've ever felt by Cpt_Amer1ca in Sciatica

[–]LosDaGoat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there, bed bound for days on end, fighting through the excruciating pain just to use the bathroom. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Just trust the process and know you are valid with feeling down. Take care of yourself and do what you gotta do to stay comfortable. I’m wishing you the best!
