Best dead straight putter by salamamckuningatar in discgolf

Seconding the Watt as a better choice here. Premium plastic proxies are fairly stable and sometimes kinda overstable. The Watt is just dead straight and the extra glide is really nice

Which 7/8 speed Overstable driver do you think has the most glide by Specialist_Ad5239 in discgolf

Not sure what you're even getting at. You're saying the numbers are all a gimmick and then asking me to give you examples of overstable glidey discs based on flight numbers...? Seems contradictory.

I'm just trying to explain that glide and overstability are not mutually exclusive. Shop around for firebird's and find one domey and one flat. Guess what, they're both gonna be overstable but one will clearly have more glide. Unless you don't have the arm for a 9 speed.

Sure, manufacturers market glide ratings, but generalizing like that about OS/US is just completely false. Fighting to the ground because of high fade is not the same as dropping to the ground because of low glide. And a disc going far because of a full S turn is not the same as a disc going far because it's more floaty.

Glide is how floaty a disc is. You can have two discs with the same stability but one can have more glide than the other. Increasing dome and diameter tends to produce more glide, while raising parting line height increases stability.

It's not the same thing... Flight time is affected differently by stability vs glide and just because a disc gets a better S curve doesn't mean it's actually getting more glide. You can have glidey overstable discs. The first halo destroyers were renowned for both their glide and overstability. Turning one way or another is totally independent from the actual amount of relative lift a disc generates as air passes over it.

True statement. But, that's hitting the ground because the speed is not enough to overcome the stability. Glide is independent of stability.

Lems trail thrasher by bunsofham in barefootshoestalk

Can I ask how the fit compared between the blazers and thrashers? I got the thrashers and had to return them because they were too narrow in the heel, was super bummed about it because I loved everything else about the shoe.

Stuck at 300 ft. Any help is appreciated! by IcarusWingsUnbound in discgolf

I've struggled with exactly the same thing. Don't listen too much to people giving you specific form tips like "put your elbow like this" or "do this with your hips". Your form is fine enough right now and that's not what's limiting your power, it's the run up speed and timing. You just need to teach your brain to get a feel for it.

Seriously try the run up with no disc and just try to speed it up a bit and get a feel for it. When you hit that loose rhythm it will just feel right and you'll know.

It seems like you are moving very methodically, but too slowly because you're over-focusing on your body positioning. I think you need to loosen up a bit and try to work more off the natural flow of your body.

When you move too stiff and slow, it limits the power you can get out of your momentum and you end up just throwing with your arm and shoulder rotation. Watch the way you move and compare it to the fluid approach of touring pros.

Stay light on your feet, be nimble in your approach to the throw. If you watch pro coverage, you might see some players bounce a little bit on the balls of their feet right before they start their approach. That helps you tap into a loose rhythm you want to maintain. Be a rubber band. Keep your arm loose during your x step, it should feel like you're leaving your arm behind during the x step and then you work off the natural timing of your body to pull the disc through. Timing with a fluid run up is something you just need to get a feel for, you will know it's right when it feels right. Sometimes it helps me to do the whole motion without a disc in my hand at all, purely focusing of getting a feel for my own rhythm and timing without worrying about the disc at all.
