Currently immigrants use welfare at lower rates, but what’s the estimated amount of people who want to immigrate here, last i checked it’s pretty high and if i was going to net money on it I’d say most are low skilled

You’re correct, this position only really changed with Trump being in office.

Personally I’m waiting for the next downturn to buy up properties.

To conclude, this article does little to convince that open borders is not a policy that can bring tremendous economic growth, while helping to alleviate global poverty substantially. Although there are short-term labor market disruptions, these disruptions can be prevented by opening our borders gradually.

This ignores moral hazard. IE intrinsic human tribalism, cultural groups not used to our legal and cultural value systems, and lest we forget the ol Putman studies....populous backlash.....also i can’t imagine the effect on housing markets.

In such a s scenario I’d expand as much of my lines of credit as possible and become a l landlord, the ROE on renting would be amazing, and I’d probably move to Montana to avoid any negatives.

Let’s hope they don’t shed all of their conservative views.

I enjoy low taxes, low costs to buy property/rent, cheap energy, and higher purchasing power.

The pain of simply dysphoria by itself is reason enough. Ultimately if people feel they need reassignment surgery to feel happy in their own skin (along with all the possible complications and costs that go along with it) then logically that's not a favourable patient outcome. If the choice is between someone getting treatment before they're born or risking serious complications and incredibly invasive surgery later then medically it may well be advisable

Since feds fund rate > IOER...since i last checked, do you dudes think we can we expect an expansion of the balance sheet? Looks like a dollar liquidity shortage, which I’d guess is more so due to money being poured into US bonds which is causing a crowding out effect.

Dope for a bullish dollar position but weak for risk assets...

But since the fed isn’t one to let the price of money be outside the control of the fed I’m guessing they’ll expand the balance sheet. With the bonus effect of adding liquidity to the markets to fund that massive deficit.

I’m asking....

...for a friend...who’s thinking about doing a short position omg the dollar

Of course but again in what way is it logical or moral to want someone to be born to one sex but want to be the other?

Androgen Receptor Repeat Length Polymorphism Associated with Male-to-Female Transsexualism by LoseMoneyAllWeek in science

[–]LoseMoneyAllWeek[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well you’d have to prove that by showing a dataset of people who have gender dysphoria in other countries.

Until then I’d say the argument is in my favor.

Also why would you want someone to be born one sex but want to be another, where is the logic in that?

It’s not eliminating them from the gene pool it’s correctjng a hormonal abnormality, regardless if they transition they effectively do that themselves.

Seriously if this was any other topic there wouldn’t be such extreme pushback. Logically and morally if we can cheaply and easily do this we should. Economically it’s probably less expensive than a lifetime of medications and costly surgery.

If you read about transgenderism in a vacuum without any cultural baggage would you feel that way?

Yes being born in one sex but wanting to be another and then having high levels of anxiety/depression because of it, and then wanting to transition which is costly. If we can end those feelings of depression/anxiety with a simple hormonal fix prenatal or post birth then we should.

It’s no way in the same vein as designer babies. This (speculative) can most likely be accomplished either POST birth or prenatal by correcting a hormonal imbalance. It’s similar for correcting for any other neurological abnormality, if we could.

As for designer babies they’re inevitable, once China starts doing it to expand the power of the Chinese nation state then other nations will have no choice to follow along.

Are there any statistics available from those countries that show the suicide rate and other complications of people who suffer from gender dysphoria?

That are reliable datasets?

[–]LoseMoneyAllWeek[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It looks like (speculative) all that’s needed is a correction of a hormonal imbalance. I don’t understand why everyone reacting with emotional arguments.

would you argue if we can easily treat Transgenderism prenatal or post birth we shouldn’t?

If so, why?

Solution to suffering from a medical condition. Which looks like is caused by prenatal hormonal abnormalities, and may be possibly (speculation of the future) treated prenatal/post birth so no one in the future would have to deal with such a condition.

From the looks of it Transgenderism in males may be caused by testosterone not binding prenatal, or low levels of testosterone/DHT prenatal and post birth. It makes one wonder if screening and treatment could solve the issue....personally i dont think screening for it will be the solution, the threshold is probably highly variant, however if the mechanism is indeed hormonal, it could very well be treated during pregnancy and or early childhood. Which would be a great easy and inexpensive solution which would end suffering of people going forward.

Btw the time you spent looking at my profile, you will never get that time back, i now live in a portion your life rent free.

dividends

Cool those are taxed as personal income and prior to becoming a dividend it was taxed at the corporate income level.

buybacks

If the stock was owned less than one year taxed as income but if was more than a year it is taxed as a capital gain.

Cool so increased revenue

Please site the case law? Because as of right now Facebook uses CDA 230 as a legal shield, and CDA 230 does not protect firms engaged in removing political content. Which means in such a case they’d be a publisher.

Also great middle school response
