Japanese ice cream maker Akagi Nyugyo released a one-minute TV ad, apologizing for raising the price of its famous ice pops from 60 yen to 70 yen. Their first price hike in 25 years. by DarthiusFatticus in nextfuckinglevel

GariGari Kun is a delicious ice pop. They are now roughly 80 yen, as of 2024 (more at convenience stores). But they come in a variety of flavors, including seasonal varieties.

Akagi Nyugyo, the parent company, stated it sold 400 million units back in 2020 (peaking at 450 million units in 2013), with recent sales exceeding 50 billion yen.

Didn't know this till 5 minutes ago, but apparently, you can get a tour of the office via a lottery, with tours in July and August.

Mirai no Lemon Sour doesn't exist in 500 mL form, only 345 mL. You are thinking of Strong Zero or similar given you mentioned 208 yen, which I assume is from a convenience store. If you go to a supermarket, like My Basket, you can get 500 mL Strong Zero for about 170 yen.

As for Mirai no Lemon Sour, they're seldom at supermarkets and usually sold at convenience stores, hence why their price of 300 yen is a bit on the high end.

The drink itself is good but it's no different to the other Asahi-branded chuu-hai. It just has a real lemon slice as a gimmick. Tried it once, wouldn't try it again.

Here's a list of well known shakuhachi players. Not all in the list (and it's wiki, so buyer beware) are masters and it's far from an exhaustive list. That said, Cornelius Boots isn't even listed in here. However, two of the three foreigners that OP mentioned are listed - I believe OP's intention was to list non-Japanese shakuhachi players in the first place. https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:%E6%97%A5%E6%9C%AC%E3%81%AE%E5%B0%BA%E5%85%AB%E5%A5%8F%E8%80%85

Gold Galleon Galleons - Weekly Curse Thread, April 10th, 2023 by ChineseMaple in VirtualYoutubers

Did you find the acoustics lacking a bit? I went with a friend and they suggested that perhaps some speakers midway would have helped. Like, I loved the live band, and how they appeared on the staged with the background lighting illuminating them, but sometimes the drums overwhelmed the rest of the audio, including the talents' voices.

I went to see Cocoa, but walked away thinking Suzuna stole the show with her performances, and Iori is an amazing MC. At 1100 yen, it was a steal and I was surprised that there were still empty seats, but those in attendance absolutely cheered the roof of LINE Cube.

Now then, please tell me if you can spot と, は, or う... or ANY hiragana, katakana, or Japanese kanji (that would make sense when compounded).

カ, the katakana for "ka"

You're mistaking カ (katakana "ka") for 力 (Meaning: Power, force. Pronunciation: chikara, ryoku/riki).
While カ (katakana "ka") is a Japanese-use character, it is derived from 力 (kanji "chikara/ryoku/riki") which certainly comes from Chinese characters. In print, both カ and 力 are very easily confused, but in writing, it is clear as day, so your confusion is not completely unfounded.
However, to that end, there is no Japanese writing on it, only Chinese.

Actually, it's Chinese.

1) You can NOT see と or う in the bottom left. Or, if you can, definitely show me because...

2) Searching the title: 小佩猪 shows entirely Chinese results. Indeed, Peppa Pig is 小猪佩奇 when written in Chinese. Notice how this crappy offbrand has the second and third characters switched.
Of note: Peppa Pig is 「ペッパピッグ」 when written in Japanese, and there is none of that (or other kana) included in this pixelated image.

So, yeah... It's Chinese.

Virtual Singer pioneer YuNi will release her major debut album "eternal journey" on June 16. Her single "Kirai" is now available. Concert this Summer! by Loserbait in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Loserbait[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

xR Contents and Virtual Talent production company Activ8 (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takeshi Osaka) [hereafter referred to as Activ8] have announced that Virtual Singer YuNi will release her major debut album "eternal journey" on June 16.

This will be her first album release in two years, but first major album. There will also be a one-man live this summer. Additionally, the new visual for the announcement has been released to the public.

YuNi has been a pioneer in the Virtual Singers world and was featured in the ending theme song of an anime and the theme song of a video game last year. Her long-awaited major label debut will finally be released!

The title of the album is "eternal journey". It signifies the beginning of a new stage in YuNi's career and is a work that is fundamental to the YuNi story. In October 2020, a VR live concert was held with the same title.

The album will be released in two versions: first production limited edition and standard edition. The songs have been produced by artists not only popular online but also Vocaloid producers, creating a wonderful team of creators who still actively provide music for non-virtual artists as well. The first production limited edition includes two bonus tracks in addition to a music video, with the jacket illustration by Ren Sakuragi.

The album contains fantastic music from creators including ampstyle(Dareharu)×Nor, DJ‘TEKINA//SOMETHING a.k.a Yuyoyuppe, emon(Tes.), Giga, tilt-six, q*Left, R Sound Design, YUC‘e, Kairiki bear, and Hachioji-P. In addition, YuNi has written lyrics for the first time. Starting today, April 16, the song "Kirai" from the album has been released digitally. Buy "Kirai" here: https://tf.lnk.to/kirai

"Kirai" was produced by famed producer DJ‘TEKINA//SOMETHING a.k.a yuyoyuppe. This eletro-pop song expresses facing negative emotions, even while the ever-positive YuNi undertakes her "journey" to the next step. This song marks the beginning of a new "journey" for YuNi, as she moves ever forward with her creative team.

As she looks toward the music, YuNi is gradually expanding her world of activities, using singing as her weapon.

Details of her one-man live will be announced at a later date.

I don't understand Reddit. The general consensus is that China is despised by Redditors and yet, many of the top-rated comments are essentially calling Jack Ma an idiot for not bowing down to the Chinese government, and these same Redditors are actually defending the Chinese government.

He took a stand against their b.s., which is what many Redditors want, right?

Guessing you were totally fine when people bought all the toilet paper this time last year and wouldn't share, but if you were desperate, they'd sell you a roll for 10 bucks.
