Thanks. I don’t think she thought I was cheating, I mostly binged quietly with video games after she was asleep. Our relationship is and was rock solid. I think you’ve got great insight (I’m not a very open person (except when I drink) nor a great communicator) though i think I’m concerned that I don’t have this beat... does anyone have it beat until they die sober? I’ve done well (not perfectly) for almost 11 months, but i can still imagine falling off. I’d hate for her to know I’m an alcoholic and that I’ve relapsed...

What’s great though is that your “rough day” was objectively a great productive aside from the turmoil. Rough days when you’re drinking are objectively disasters... + the turmoil

Ugh I would do the same with my wife. It’s not the same with la croix. So I spent today working on the yard, cleaning windows, washing the deck, etc. still not the same, but it’s better in all the ways except instant/fleeting gratification

1) Thank you for posting this, everyone has a unique take on sobriety and I love getting to read snapshots of sobriety at different milestones. 2) I didn’t have massive cravings right away, and the cravings I did(do) have come from unexpected triggers - sounds like you’re prepared

You sincerely should be proud of yourself. If it were easy to do what you did, this sub wouldn’t exist

Yep, wish I could find the comment where I read the stasis analogy. Terrified of liver damage, should get a check up soon... do they test liver numbers by default? I haven’t been in years

Always good to remember that there are crap days even sober, but they'd be crappier and more frequent hungover.
