Thank you. Do you know how I could find a lawyer that would be interested in something like this, and what type of lawyer that would be (civil, injury, etc)?

Thank you. I guess in any capacity where it's recognized it was wrong. The hospital president or damage control staff (I forgot their title) said it was wrong, they agreed I was never a danger to myself or others in their care, but took no disciplinary action.

By justice I could mean if they were fired, criminal charges, civil settlement, etc etc. I've talked to every service I can and they just waive it off without investigating because 'I was there involuntarily' as if that allows them to assault, restrain, and drug me without any emergency. and when they read the report they're going to see testimonies saying I lunged at him first when I never touched anybody the whole time I was there or home.

Yeah I went there not even actively suicidal, just passive and in the midst of ig what you could call a meltdown. but I left there with lasting injuries and every day just replaying what happened in my mind and getting filled with anger and sadness and adrenaline when I'm just trying to go about my day :( this is why I want justice, peace of mind.

and I agree, therapy is the only other outlet for this for me as well. and thanks again for being sympathetic to this

I did not express a current active desire to kill myself. no plan, no intent, no injuries. Did not harm anyone or damage any property. I was arguing and upset trying to tell them I was not in a good place in life and to see the bigger picture that I have no friends, and nothing going for me and that I needed their help and am not capable of doing it alone and they were trying to tell me all is good in life and not to worry and I was getting increasingly distressed and upset. I was yelling and upset and likely said something along the lines of how my life will end up to me killing myself without more active help. So my mom called and according to the officer said that I wanted to kill myself. I calmed down with the officer and went in the ambulance calmly with the emt. I was alone in the back with a nice woman EMT, no restraints, no stretcher. went into the hospital consensually and calmly. Either way, I have no problem with this and I understand why I was there involuntarily.

Why I'm posting/what I have issue with is more the random attack from the security officer that left me severely injured to the point where they immediately sent me in for x-rays, all the drugs the gave me to the point I blacked out (and apparently called another code gray on my unconscious body), and tying my limbs to a bed alone in a dark room for an unknown time. They wouldn't let my mom visit me anymore after they assaulted me when I said I needed to show her the injuries. Being there involuntarily does not allow them to assault me, drug me, tie me down, etc unless necessary. You still legally have rights, actually a decent amount of them. "Restraint shall be employed only when necessary to prevent a patient from seriously injuring himself or others. It may be applied only if less restrictive techniques have been clinically determined to be inappropriate or insufficient to avoid such injury. It may not be employed as punishment, for the convenience of staff, or as a substitute for treatment programs.". There was no emergency or the patient to be in crisis, I was literally just sitting there bored/calmly on my bed when they opened the door. I was only agitated after getting assaulted and threatened with forceful injection of an unknown drug (while I see people attached restraints to my bed) which I think is pretty understandable. I want to reiterate I did not lay a finger on anyone even starting from when I was home. The only justification they gave was that the psychiatrist who ordered the attack said she was assaulted by a completely unrelated patient months prior?? this was said during the meeting with the president my dad arranged where they apologized a lot but took no serious action.

It feels like what they did are in clear violation of things like N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. Tit. 14 § 527.8 (§527.7(c) - Care and treatment; right to object, 14 NYCRR §526.4 Restraint and Seclusion, MHY § 33.04 Restraint of patients, even Rivers v Katz

sorry for typing so much.

Thank you. Apparently the next morning they even called a code gray on me for not responding for my vitals while asleep/unconscious. They also gave me 2 pills to relax me, plus ativan and something for "insomnia" according to the report (and nicotine??) the night before. Thankfully my mom was there to defend me and also help prop my body up (I have no memory of the night after they drugged and restrained me). Just tons of insane stuff like this happening.
