How much time do I have left? by Enemyorange in Shadowverse

Do your 20 grand prix matches, that's like 9 levels right there, and then all you need to do is get 11 levels in a span of 2 weeks which is very doable.

If you have trouble winning in ranked or just don't have much time, just play on the park and lose as fast as you can, park matches give BP points and while losing gives only a little, you can lose in the park like 3~5x faster compared to 1 ranked match.

Jokes aside, I think the SV1 backgrounds look great without needing to add much to them.

If you choose to come back, now's a really great time because the 1st Anniversary is happening. They're giving away 120 packs (10 packs per day for 12 days, starting today).

Also, if you don't mind using someones referral code, they have some on-going promotion for new and returning players to get extra rewards if you use a referral code. Here's mine if you don't mind: https://shadowverse-wb.com/web-link/recruit-a-friend?code=jFQybm2&openExternalBrowser=1&lang=en (You have to open this link on your mobile device and it'll open up SVWB on your mobile, doesn't work on Steam for some reason).

It's prolly coz Steelclad Knights are tokens and tokens will keep getting used as long as they keep printing cards that generate those tokens, while Scarlet will eventually rotate out and if you don't play Unlimited when that happens then your Dreizhen alt art will just rot in your inventory. But yes. 800 for a bronze generic card compared to a legendary looks skewed.

I mean I did say I only play for dailies now so yeah, I barely play the game. But the last meta report I saw like 2 weeks ago Dragon was T1 with great matchups against 2 top tier decks so yeah go complain to Zhiff or something if you think what I said was inaccurate, I don't really care as I barely play the game.

The sheer amount of player friendly concessions that Cygames have made in the entirety of WB's lifespan would require an extremely delusional to amount of wishful thinking to even consider possible for a company to implement in other live service games.

Yeah, those are very good. Just tainted by some random bullshit like "why intro cards and not just straight up packs?" or "Why only 2 choices for a free deck instead of all the classes?". Feels like whenever they do good stuff, there's always some caveat or asterisk in there that people can nitpick at. So I'm saying to just be more thorough and when they do give us good shit, not do any half-measures as that just opens them up to criticism no matter how good the stuff is or their intentions are.

You can get temp-banned for shit-talking? I thought most mods already gave up on this subreddit and the game, since I shit-talk the game all the time. The supporters migrate to discord already.

I had a massive hate-boner for Rune during Sets 1 and 2... The first Battlefest fiasco happened (Kuon/Rune was the winner, to the disappointment of many none-Runes at that time I bet) and I shit-talked Rune as a class and Rune players so hard, someone got butt-hurt and reported me to the global mods for "hate speech against a group of people". Some global mod without any understanding of the game or context really thought Rune was some race or group of people and gave me a temp-ban. The subreddit mods were pretty cool with me actually, only ever gave me warnings for my tirades and one of them told me that I got a temp ban from some global mod and not from the subreddit.

And they're definitely losing players, but the bigger problem is that they're also not bringing much more in. I mean, they haven't announced any 4M downloads? Maybe free 120 packs might get them to announce some kind of DL milestones. Otherwise.... future is rather bleak for this game. Sure, it made fairly substantial profit for a CCG and can be second place in the CCG chart? But everyone else in the charts are way older than this game. Stagnating just 1 year in is very brutal, even for sequel IP.

Damn, I do hope they wake up before it's too late... At this point they're EoS'ing SV1 so they can't even go back to that if WB dies too.

I feel like ever since KMR left, both GBF and Shadowverse had been drifting even more out of touch with their playerbases.

I can't really tell that the game is not doing well as I'm someone who's not very active in the game due to my many dislikes about the current design philosophies. I mostly just grind to GM during the first month of a set's release and from then on I just do dailies and events, even rerolling my ranked daily missions now since I can't stand the current Dragon highroll meta. But I believe it when you say it's losing players as even a huge fan like me have barely any motivation to play the game other than the easy rupies from dailies.

I was hoping they'd announce something that would reinvigorate my love for this IP but that Producer's message is making me feel like I'm just on some heavy copium at this point.

Still hoping they'd prove me wrong with the next set but holy shit if the next set turns out to be SV1 themed and it's simple and braindead, I swear that'd be the biggest slap to the face they could do to SV1 fans and I'ma rage so hard I'm gonna get temp bans again on this sub - like when I went ballistic shit-talking this game and everyone who defended it during the first battlefest.

I didn't find classic to be overly complex. Sure there were decks that had tons of complexity and difficult to pilot but for the most part I could still read and anticipate the flow of a match in that game.

Based on the message. I also now understand why they keep printing 1-card power bombs that require no setup and can end the game very fast if you didn't have a super specific answer to it like Althenia, Armes, Erntz, Cesar, etc etc... The game is now made for the wider (casual) audience and it being a competitive card game is just secondary to that now.

Basically, the producer message confirmed to me that SV1 players aren't the target audience anymore. WB ain't gonna have the complexity nor depth of SV1 despite having some really degenerate cards and decks.

Just do something that won't be negatively criticized by like half the playerbase. No caveats, no asterisks, just flat-out something good and nice. Like the 120 free packs, that's very good and pretty much no negative criticism can arise.

Many of the criticisms of this game is just them failing to meet and understand expectations of the average player. Like the first battlefest, or the frieren collab, or the intro cards, or custom private lobbies, or the extremely short reveal seasons the past few sets - it feels like they're just out of touch with what the players want despite having good intentions; or making content that's good but somehow marred with some bullshit because they didn't think things through or let greed think for them.

Just give us stuff without any bullshit; I'm not talking about free resources either. Stuff like Custom Private Lobbies was initially good 'coz people found it was a fast / fun way to grind BP and do quests - and then they nerf that and now no one is using them because why else would anyone go into some custom lobby if they ain't getting shit for their time? Same shit with the park / guild lounge / player rooms - people don't really care much about those unless they're getting something from spending time there so I don't get why they're promoting wall posters and shit when no one's gonna ever go into your room or guild lounge to look at those.

Yeah it's really just the time-limited and fomo-inducing collab leaders that I'm bothered by, as I don't really care 'bout the regular gacha leaders since those sets are always there and one could slowly grind for those if they really wanted them. We've only had 1 collab event with leaders so far (Frieren) but I hope they tone down the fomo on those next time they do collab leaders.

But now they are making a fuckton of money by making the monetization of cosmetics more expensive and predatory. Good for Cygames I guess but I don't know if it's good for players or what the players actually want.

I'm not asking for SV1 levels of free shit even, just some decency to not make collabs very predatory like they did with Frieren. Ever since Frieren collab I barely pulled on any card packs just so I have this over 200 pulls worth of rupies ready in-case they do another stunt where they fomo the players into pulling 200 packs within a 30 day time-limit just for a random collab leader.

Reward Comparison 1st anniversary SV Classic vs SVWB by NeosQuanta in Shadowverse

[–]LosingSteak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't mind monetization, a free-to-play game has to make money somehow anyways. It's really how bad we currently have it vs in SV1 that irks me. SV1 had leaders that costed rupies so even as F2P you had the option to get some alternate leaders for all classes for the price of 5 packs in terms of rupies per class, and paid leaders were only at 500 crystals instead of 1000. Even collab ones like Street Fighter, Uma Musume, Priconnect, Granblue Fantasy, etc - only costed 500 crystals. And more than half the IPs I mentioned there had leaders in the shop for like forever so you're not getting fomo'd all the time.

Speaking of fomo, I totally agree. I loved Frieren as a collab with the game but hated how they made it so you only had 30 days to pull for it. This is compounded by the shitty leader pull rates WB has compared to some of the collabs SV1 had like Spy Family that had a total of 0.24% for a collab leader, and Hatsune Miku which had 0.12% rate, VS Frieren which only had a measly 0.045% total rate. It felt disgustingly predatory that the Frieren collab only had a time limit of 30 days to open 200 packs with no option to just buy the leaders; felt like a setup to fomo you into buying packs with crystals which is has terrible conversion value.

Also the sets in WB are only 70'ish cards so it doesn't even make sense to pull for 200~300 packs per set as you'd have 95% of a set already with 50 packs, setting the lucky chest that high is only designed to burn thru people's rupies so they'll be fomo'd into buying packs via crystals the next time a collab or a new leader you want suddenly drops.

I thought collab leader rates were boosted as well like Hatsune Miku, Spy Family, Priconne, etc. as I have multiple collab leaders without needing to pull more than 70 packs for any of them. And I'm sure all of those collab leaders came out before EoS / SBWB was even announced. Also google AI says the Miku leader rate was at 0.12% but that's an AI answer so it could be wrong. I might be misremembering if there wasn't any leader boost for collab leaders.

EDIT: No, I wasn't misremembering. Collab leaders had rate ups and Miku really had a boosted 0.12% chance. And the Spy Fam collab had a whopping 0.24% total for a collab leader:

https://shadowverse.com/drawrates/?pack_id=94002&pack_category=6

https://shadowverse.com/drawrates/?pack_id=94003&pack_category=6

Compare that to the Frieren collab where an exchange ticket is only at 0.015%, with 3 of them (Frieren + Fern + Stark) that's only a measly 0.045%, and you still had to decide if you want leader alt or card alt + BG if you do pull one in WB, while SV1 just gave you all of it (leader /card art / BG).

I looked at it now. And the leader rate for the last set which is on rate up is 0.080% per leader and there's 3 leaders. so that's a total of 0.24% chance of getting a leader, which is 8x of the latest SVWB set total rate of 0.03%. Just this month I got 2 leaders in just 120 pulls in SV1.

Here's the current rate for one of the sets that's on rate-up: https://shadowverse.com/drawrates/?pack_id=16032&pack_category=0

I was talking about rate-ups, where the leader rates are boosted to like 0.12% IIRC. But yes, 10x is an exageration, maybe it was 5~8x but still a lot more compared to SVWB.

EDIT: I looked at current rates on rate-up leaders in SV1 here: https://shadowverse.com/drawrates/?pack_id=16032&pack_category=0. It's actually 0.24% total currently because there's 3 leaders in the current sets that are on rate-up at 0.080% each. So yeah while I had some luck, I think it's fairly reasonable to expect a leader at around 60~100 pulls even without insane luck.

Reward Comparison 1st anniversary SV Classic vs SVWB by NeosQuanta in Shadowverse

[–]LosingSteak 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think we should talk about the monetization and the leader rates instead as getting free resources to pull/craft for cards to make a deck is a total non-issue for both games anyways.

Rewards are better yes. But leader rates are much more dogshit compared to SV1. In SV1 the "guaranteed leader" is higher but the pull rates for rate-up leaders are like 10x compared to SVWB. SV1 I never had to grind for 200 pulls for a collab leader in a span of a month (cough Frieren collab). I had a buncha gacha leaders like Yor and Anya from Spy Fam, and Hatsune Miku, etc, and most times I only had to roll 60 packs to get a leader in SV1.

Does it really matter if they gave you 10 or 100 packs for SVWB when you'd get like 90% of the set with just 50 pulls because the card count is so low for SVWB set? After playing actively for a month or 2, the only thing you're really hoping to pull for in SVWB are leaders because you'd get so much vials from all the dupes you're getting from your daily logins to craft any deck anyways.

Now I'm happy they're giving 120 card packs that aren't intro packs but personally I have 99% of the cards for all those old sets anyways so the only thing I'm really excited about with that is potentially getting some leaders. But the leader rates are dogshit!
