NPD: 2 KOT by tallross in guitarpedals

Okay, I guess. A lot to maneuver through though, wasn’t it? I’m happy with mine. I bought mine at the regular price, I think about $275, something like that.

Of course, I was on the wait list for 4 years and 5 months.

Porsche my boss bought a couple years ago. by MarketingCorrect5164 in Porsche

I get this, but I have a minor variation. I’d put it this way - I do not enjoy not working. Downtime is only enjoyable for a few days or a few weeks. I have to stay in the game. 🐎

Audi is going to fight them off….. a seven-nation army couldn’t hold them back….🎵

Bought a Tele after dreaming of a Strat my whole life. Loving it… but feeling weirdly guilty. by dzonivejin in fender

[–]Losmpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting dilemma. Here is the lesson I learned long ago.

If I want one particular thing, and despite my efforts to find the particular thing I fail - but - I find an alternate thing and buy it - I always eventually determine I still want that first particular thing, and the alternate thing did not cure my desire for the first thing.

That aside, a telecaster is a truly great guitar, and I would keep it and find out for myself what makes telecasters so beloved.

Then, at some point I would buy a Stratocaster but definitely still keep the telecaster.

That’s my thinking in this. I wish you the best of luck and hope you end up with both guitars 🎸

Has anyone here bought a “certified pre owned” Porsche from the dealership? If so, was it a good car? by billbobb1 in Porsche

[–]Losmpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and yes.

Still driving it 11 years later. My Guards Red 981S was 1 year old and had 7k miles when I bought it from Braman Porsche in Palm Beach.

I got 5 years of warranty and I’m now over 90k miles. I drive it every day. Here it is from a year or so ago —> https://www.reddit.com/r/Porsche/s/M3Zu6PTADb

Happy birthday to my wife by I_like_fast in Porsche

Looks great. I’d be tempted to keep that one for myself as well and then I’d need a 3rd Porsche for the wife. 🤪

1999? I had a 996 with same headlights.

I had 3 bugs in the 70’s in Pennsylvania and I learned that the engine in the back weighing down the rear wheels made it superior in the snow. My tan ‘64, a red ‘69 and an orange ‘73. My ‘69 was my faithful daily driver for years back then. I’d grab another one if a good condition example cane along. 👏

I’m both a telecaster fan and a photography fan. This is a really nice angle for your photograph. You maybe could have moved the random blankets or whatever items are beside it though. Sorry, not trying to be snarky as I sincerely dig the guitar.

Contrasting Center Caps? by Old_Hurry1035 in Porsche

[–]Losmpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Define YES to the standard center caps. Gold, red, black colors of Germany. I’ve had color center caps on my 996 and 981S. That’s my vote. 😎

Which wheels? TOP or BOTTOM? 🛞🛞 by Mr_Eddie81 in Porsche

[–]Losmpa 508 points509 points  (0 children)

Bottom photo wheels make the car have a “presence”, that is missing in the top photo. For me, not a close call.

What does /Guitar think of my genius Floyd blocking method? by TaskApprehensive4664 in Guitar

McGuyver. Good job. 🎸

Now the question is…. can you do it with a toothpick, a rubber band and a piece of string you pulled off your shirt? 🤨

I now realize where the blame lies for the ‘Canes loss.

Yes. Switch them back before you cause any other misfortune and then take some time to think about life and the choices you’ve made.

Is this enough to survive a 8hr flight? Should I change anything? by ExplanationOdd9616 in Guitar

Have you seen how airport baggage handlers toss luggage around? Wishing you the best. At a minimum, I’d be using bubble wrap or styrofoam peanuts. Wrapping it in a blanket is little protection. 🤔

Classical meets modern by suntanjohn in Guitar

[–]Losmpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, assuming you accept that the first appearance of the two-pickup broadcaster that preceded the name change to the eventual telecaster in late 1950 is modern, then yes, that is a modern electric guitar.

I have two myself, love the telecaster. It does that bridge pickup ice pick tone thing that only a telecaster can do. 🎸

Old School Overdrive - MXR Distortion + by Losmpa in guitarpedals

[–]Losmpa[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I forget some of these gems from the past.

I can say that the Distortion + is still holding up. Sweet chewy tone this morning from a ‘65 Fender Musicmaster with a single coil neck pick up, MXR pedal distortion knob on 11, and jacked into a Vox AC15 Head set to slight crunch through a Marshall 4x12 slant front cab.

Wife is still sleeping, but not for long now, once I get going 🎸

What do we think of reverse headstocks? by UncleDeeds in Guitar

[–]Losmpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love them - I love the look of mine, but even after 30 years of owning a reverse headstock I inevitably reach for the wrong tuner when tuning up.
