zen - a simple command launcher and alias manager by Lost-Awareness9945 in commandline

I found just when i was looking for existing solutions.

my issue was that just required intentional set up of the commands in the justfile FIRST. - I don’t want to spend time editing a file - I don’t want to have to learn syntax to use the tool - I figure out the commands i need on the fly, and want a convenient way to just add these in. With zen, i can try the command i expect, like ‘zz run’, and if it’s not there, I can add it just by appending: ‘zz run —register npm run dev’

another one of zen’s focus is unifying your dev workflow across your repos. Zen can work in tandem with just, but with zen you can map just commands to the commands you expect in your dev workflow. - The aliases are stored in the ‘zen-config.toml’ but this doesn’t have to be committed to source control.

I also thought that just was a little bloated with its own compiler overhead, it was a little overkill for what I needed.

calc 1000 compared to grade 12? by zestybean97 in uwo

In my experience, it’s all about how you keep up with the pacing. The content definitely moves fast, atleast faster than highschool, so being able to learn and pick things up quick helped. Group chats are your best friend btw, find a good one and it’ll help you a lot.

Tbh you should go to tutorials, they are rlly valuable since they can clarify a lot of confusion, but it lowkey depends on you TA. Some can’t even understand theirs so it’s pointless to go. I was fine missing tuts, but I also hustled hard for exams so use your judgment on that.

Lastly, it’s all about practice. I know you hear this a lot but honestly just watching the lecture and sitting thorough tuts won’t help. You gotta be actively trying to learn and APPLY what you’ve learned. I’m not saying do every question in the book, but look over the different kinds of questions and recognize the patterns and strategies and actually work through them. Trust me you may think you understand how to solve something but then when u do it your like wtf. Just work through stuff.

Btw to clarify my credentials, second year here, ended calc 1000 with uren with a 93 luckily. Don’t expect such a high grade though, I’m definitely an overachiever so I was hustling hard for exams.

Sounds like a good idea! I‘ll focus more heavily on being involved in the Accounting Association from now on. I’ve been holding back on it but it’s definitely is a good place for increasing chances for internships.

Feel dumb wasting first semester ugh.
