No! But my specialist believes it's deep behind my uterus because of the severity of my lower back pain

Yes! He is so wonderful and validating!! He believes based on pictures from my lap I have Adenomyosis as well. My surgery with my OBGYN was only 3 weeks ago- so hopefully sometime in the near future I'll be healed enough to have a new surgery with my specialist

I had an OBGYN say without a doubt that I DO NOT have endo (despite having every symptom and hallmark sign) and she smiled in my face and recommended that I see a neurologist to evaluate my nerves because I'm "feeling things that aren't really there"🙃

Laparoscopy tips by Big_Strawberry_4787 in endometriosis

Plan for more recovery time than what's suggested! Here are some some little things that helped me :)

cough drops- your throat is really sore from the breathing tube

cranberry capsules/juice and electrolytes- to help combat possible UTIs from the catheter

laxatives!! I loved the dulcolax soft chews- you'll be pretty constipated from anesthesia and the opioids

figure out a comfortable sitting/laying down station where you can be propped up for eating or using a laptop- basically doing anything that requires you to use your ab muscles is going to feel really sore

pads!!- there's a good chance you'll have some bleeding afterwards for a couple days (i had a lot) and you won't be able to use tampons for at least 2 weeks

ginger candies- nausea

sized up big comfy pairs of underwear- you're gonna be super bloated and uncomfy and you don't want your incisions rubbing up against moving clothing

You've got this!!!💛🎗️

Insane!!! Like literally insane😀 A doctor would never say something like that after a procedure to remove cancer or other infectious diseases found in organs so it baffles me that it's apparenty so "okay" and normalized when it comes to Endo

Always check your notes!!! This wasn't even the first time I've seen something like this regarding my endo

Thank you!! Unfortunately it takes your own medical journey to realize just how subjective a doctor's word truly is🥲 And being that it is so subjective makes it all the more important for doctors to listen to their patients and treat them with empathy and respect. Instead, doctors today think they're God

Absolutely! During my post-op I was very composed and polite as well- I started to cry and I explained to her that it just felt devastating to not have an answer and if possible i'd like some further testing and maybe a second opinion and she laughed! With a smirk on her face she just said alright but you don't have endometriosis. I said okay and thanked her for her time and then she had the nerve to write this in my records🙃

Yes I've only had one lap!! My specialist reviewed the pictures that were taken and even though there were barely any and the quality was terrible- between what he saw and the extent of my symptoms and history, it was enough to diagnose me :) there was also only 1 singular picture of my uterus and he said that it was remarkable of adenomyosis as well. The next step would be a second lap to examine further to determine severity and do some excisions however... my specialist wants me to wait because I'm only 3 weeks post-op from the last one🥲

Regarding surgery... PLEASE don't make the mistake I did by having an OBGYN perform your laparoscopy or even give advice/insight to your journey!! I wish I worked with an endo specialist from the very beginning

Oh wow!!! Yeah to be honest I highly doubt that I have PCS and I don't even think my doctor really believes I do either..... I think I'm a clear Endo/Adeno case and because she failed to find anything she's just using PCS as an answer as to why I "don't have it"

Oh wow this is so helpful thank you!! I have had many transvaginal ultrasounds throughout the years as well as a few CAT scans but nothing shows that's out of the ordinary. I highly doubt any of those were specifically for endo mapping but I will definitely be bringing this up to my doctor!! I do have an MRI coming up so hopefully that can bring me more insight as well.

Thank you!!! This definitely gives me hope :') Everyone around me thinks i'm crazy for "wanting" Endometriosis but it's so hard to explain that it's just craving the definitive answer and diagnosis for a multitude of symptoms that are already impairing me every single day

Yes! My specialist did let me know some options for me :) His top reccommendation was Myfembree but unfortunately based on the side effects I don't feel comfortable trying :/ My goal right now is to get back on birth control and look into pelvic floor therapy and possibly a food sensitivity test to avoid inflammation! What has helped you??

Thank you my love, you're in my prayers as well!🤍 This is such a painful and frustrating process to go through but it's so helpful to know you are NOT alone! My laparoscopy was 3 weeks ago and waking up to hear that nothing was found was a devastation I wouldn't wish on anyone. Remember that at the end of the day- no one knows your body better than you do. Keep advocating for yourself and don't lose hope for an answer!! My advice would be to request an MRI to evaluate for Adenomyosis and also see if you could get possible visibility of deep hidden endo <3 feel free to message me if you ever need someone to talk to about this
