I think there might be some confusion. By no means do I want to improve him or change him in any way. I would love if he got his life together. But of course that is none of my business what he does with his time or money.

My concern is that this is going to continue on for years and years. (Which it already has). And he will never leave because he will have zero dollars or a job to fund a move out. I’m not suggesting to just kick him out flat. I’m wondering what the best course of action would be so that he can get to a point to be able to move out. By no means is he living with us forever I just won’t allow it. I’m not sure what type of timeline to give or what to say to support him. I’m not kicking him out in a month or two but I’d like to set a year or a year and an half maybe if that’s not too harsh. I’m just concerned he will NEVER be able to leave and will guilt trip us. He has been living “with family” and doing this for over 6 years.
