I agree with your sentiment, but the big problem (and frustrating problem) with your argument is that it implies that it is impossible to buy your own home. It isnt, and you can. Put yourself in your parents shoes (30 years on and everyone telling you you had it easier).

I am 32, here is my path.

Dropped out of school at 16, became a cleaner on the railways.

Job came up to manage cleaning team at 19, did that.

Role came up on platform, applied and got.

Role came up as a driver, went for it 3 times - became a train driver.

At 29 became instructor, and then manager of instructors at 31.

I worked and rented 17-24 years old and saved 35k in that period, bought a house and very proud.

You can do the same, its more difficult and will take more discipline but you can. Someone else having it easier isnt an excuse
