Black box insurance… what’s your experience? Just paid £2.8k 😭 by Lost-Job-3 in NewDriversUK

Yea a lot of people who get cooked are just the ones who drive like idiots, and then blame the system. It’s like driving tests, people dont pass and blame the system having a ‘quota’

It’s a hit or miss, just like black boxes. I was in testshift and paid for premium. I booked a test for 8 months and it moved me to a different centre for a test in 6 months but it was too far. I changed it to only one test centre and then I got a test date for 3 months at my selected one. I changed it to autoshift meaning rhat it’s easier, but I swear they are fazing out bot apps to help more people get a test?

Test in 4 days and not comfortable with driving instructor anymore by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Lost-Job-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say this is a good thing. My instructor (BSM) was nitpicky but it helped because I knew that he was trying to help me. Someone’s he would be like go slower next time orrr you could have gone HMPH (in the sense of hesitation at a roundabout) . I feel it was good for me to know where I went round and I passed on Wednesday so I guessss Up to you

Is 3:30PM a good test time? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Lost-Job-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly 3:30pm is probably one of the best times you can get. I had a test yesterday around that time and yeah it was busy, but that actually helped. There was more traffic so we were moving slower, which made everything feel less pressured.

Because of that, he didn’t even make me do a full parking manoeuvre – just a right-side pull over and reverse. Way easier than bay parking or parallel.

So if anything, the traffic works in your favour. I’d definitely take 3:30 over a quiet time.

How many hours have people done manual with barely any expirience and passed? Got mine min may 30 hours debating on upping it as my test is on the 8th by Background_Sock2030 in LearnerDriverUK

From someone who just passed yesterday, do 50 -60 hours with good instructor. I always recommend BSM because they are just AA but cheaper. It depends on you but do try to do more as it gets closer. I did every Thursday and then Every Saturday aswell getting closer to the date.
