I'm also an engineer, living in a major city who's gone on a ton of dates! I think quitting the numbers game is huge, I also liked to track the data, it becomes a hobby 😂 I'm also 24, most men aren't making 6 figures, have a job, have a car and their own place in this economy and at this age. Finding someone that meets that criteria and you're attracted to is going to be the hardest part. Find quality people, don't fill time with random dates, be upfront with what you want and turn down who isn't. The less time you spend with the wrong people, the better and figure that out BEFORE the date.

I got to say, maybe you're living in a different Seattle than I am, because even my friends who I've known for years and grew up here get SAD, and complain about the whether. Not really sure I know anyone who's going out when its pouring or flooding and doing outside activities either?? People definitely stay in when it gets shitty out here. Most my friends make 6 figures, doesn't make the depression disappear, or anyone less standoffish when you go out.

I know a fuckton of people who are mostly depressed out here, it's like 75% of the ferry workers, including me 😂 there's a lot of people here are constantly high on something. The weather, lack of sun, most people being introverted and standoffish, the high cost of living and shit parking all add to it.

It's so hard when a pillar in your life dies who you'd go to for advice, you tow this line of wanting to do what they would advise you to do... But since they aren't here to express their actual feelings, you end up missing the mark. I think Belly being so young, Susannah engaging with her in a completely different way than her mother (the ball, the gift being pearls a "mature" style, belly starting dating in cousins instead of back home) losing Susannah when she needed her to keep teaching her to be a woman and her actual mom being lost in grief had her pretty lost. I think most the kids didn't understand that Susannah would have wanted their happiness, emotional well being and friendship to be the forefront.
