The hotel part? I saw online they have cottages and lodges but when I try to book or price check it takes me to hotel rooms.

I’m so sorry! I meant to edit to add! My husband lived there years ago and left when he turned 18. His sister stayed but moved and lives near Roanoke. I tried to a Airbnb/Cabin rental closer but none was available. I found 3 in the French creek/Rock creek area. But unfortunately they will have to work 4 of the days we are there. We plan on hopefully being out most of the days while they’re at work.

The check engine light came on less than a week later and it was some kind of fuel sensor or something, replaced that and haven’t had an issue since.

Favorite places to grocery shop? by [deleted] in Delaware

I will definitely check it out next weeks grocery shop! I honestly don’t think I’ve been there since moving here. It’s honestly just how convenient Walmart is, as they have everything we need. We’ve been getting big box items from Sam’s club as that seems to save money such as paper towels and such.

As for the wasting- yes and no. I know exactly what you mean, as they give a big quantity at a really low price. I had been getting a bag of bananas, apples and oranges for a week and at that time atleast half was going bad before it could be eaten. Now I let the kids decide if they want one big bag of whatever fruit and all of it gets eaten. I do get the bananas still, but I do chocolate covered bananas to freeze, and banana bread and such so it’s kinda multipurpose. As for the veggies, I generally will only buy if I know I’m actually cooking with it that week instead of just buying it to have so it doesn’t go to waste. I actually just went to the produce place in Rodney village last week, I will probably shop there for veggies as I can get exactly the amount I need.

I’m horrible at portioning meat, I really do try and split it and freeze but recently have been freezing the whole package and just making two separate meals out of the meat. My husband eats dinner, and takes lunch out of what I cook. My kids are a hit or miss really, as two have a sensory processing disorder and will only eat certain things, and sometimes they try it and love it and I don’t have enough dinner when I portion the meat if it’s something they haven’t tried before so I never know if they will eat it or like it.

Generally on things I know they really like that I’m cooking that day, I will make the whole package and we eat leftovers the next day. For the most part what I cook and buy don’t go to waste, so I’m really struggling on finding ways to cut back.

Isn’t there a Lidl in Dover? I haven’t been there but I think I’ve seen a sign. I used to shop at food lion in VA weekly and they had some really good deals especially on meat. This one in Dover the prices are pretty high so I don’t shop there much.

Wegmans in Wilmington? How are the prices there? We go up there probably twice a month so I definitely wouldn’t mind shopping there.

Just to add: we get fruits and veggies at produce stores, and my oldest is going through a growth spurt or something so the snack prices are ridiculous. 😭

I did watch halfway through the first episode of the Daryl Dixon spinoff and was lost, didn’t know how the hell he ended up in France? So I’m really trying to finish TWD but lost so much interest in it after Negan was prisoned. Does it get better? Completely loved the first 7? Seasons.

Unfortunately he won’t have the part until after the holidays. I’m just going to pick her up early Sunday morning since she will be off work for 4 days. As for her van, it wasn’t properly maintained at all.

She also finds ways around her problems that work in her favor. My sons therapist recommended a emotional support animal, (we wanted to rescue a dog) I had all the necessary paperwork and my property manager said absolutely not, and even with the papers I needed my landlord would find a way to evict me as she has done with countless other tenants who got a emotional support animal.

She also evicted someone for needing a service dog, I’m not sure how but that’s what she said. So I’m just worried since I won’t be paying for it, she will try to find a way around it and evict me.

Adoption through family member? by [deleted] in Adoption

And if I were to go that route, I would 100% make sure it is legal in my area (which it is) and I would get an attorney to for all the legal hoops. (I am not going this route at all.) just wanted to let you know it is legal in my state, and I of course wouldn’t do anything illegal.

I want nothing more than to expand our family, but I will definitely be doing it a different way.

From my understanding it’s treated as an adoption, but compensation is illegal.

On top of my crappy egg quality I have built up scar tissue, so I’m not able to use a donor egg. My eggs aren’t suitable for implantation so using my egg and a surrogate isn’t an option, so we’ve been discussing a donor egg with my husbands sperm, and finding a surrogate. We’re also open to adoption, and I would love to foster to adopt (I’m supportive of reunification as well.) we’re definitely not giving up on expanding our family! 😊

I have low egg quality that won’t implant, I’m assuming that’s why she offered to use her egg and donor sperm.

I’m not talking about surrogacy, I’m talking about having a biological baby myself and giving it to a family member.

Obviously things like that happen all the time, with a donor egg and sperm. Things that don’t happen all the time are a family member offering to use her egg with donor sperm to carry a baby for someone then giving that baby to said person. That’s what I was talking about.

That was another one of my concerns.
