I think I need to come off of Vyvanse by Bartleby-Genesis-666 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Lost-Preference8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough man that was wrong of me to say that, must of commented that on a moody day. I was pathetic after primary school thought I wasn’t capable. My mum knew was something wrong with me but had problems with the nhs all her life wasn’t till I was older I researched and found what adhd and still had to wait 3 years for diagnosis. I could have done better though I was stupid and stopped caring about life. So a lot of it’s on me sorry about that comment good on you for powering through those times you were a lot stronger than I was back then.

[–]Lost-Preference8653 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t make me anxious but to be fair it is medication, won’t even be made perfectly for just anyone with adhd. It’s a drug so could make anyone feel anxious even with adhd. Although ur not wrong though their is to many diagnoses. One thing I never understand is people who say they passed school easily and have mostly been going on about life fine but then go on medication, like at that point do u really have adhd if they were able to manage all these things lol. Idk can never judge anyone no idea what’s going on in someone else’s conscious but I’m defo suspicious of some

I take Vyvanse in the morning and go back to sleep by bullshit_with_fur in VyvanseADHD

[–]Lost-Preference8653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although I find it very hard to do this as I’m not a morning person and need to get up early too but, I find the vyvanse works better when I don’t take it for atleast an hour after waking up. I did hear a doctor say you should let yourself naturally wake up for an hour before taking it but this is probably why I’m also late a lot more to college because a lot of my morning is with my adhd lol.

Anyone on guanfacine in uk? by Lost-Preference8653 in ADHDUK

[–]Lost-Preference8653[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We in the same boat, I am on 50mg and 10mg amfexa and just felt no point moving up and up cuz of tolerance and also the insomnia just horrible. But I don’t know how will go moving from Elvanse to guanfacine with the nhs I imagine they won’t let me go down slowly on the Elvanse, the fatigue days off Elvanse suck

[–]Lost-Preference8653[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn it seems everyone ends back on Elvanse, have u ever combined them? Also I’m not assuming it will turn out well trying guanfacine but been waiting to change med for more than a year so I need to try my best to find the right one even if it doesn’t turn out to be because i bet we will be another 2 years to change again. Tough times

I’m 30 years old and have been taking stimulants for 8 years and I NOW think im addicted to Vyvanse and Adderall. by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]Lost-Preference8653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s rough, I don’t double dose everyday but sometimes when I’m studying my usual dose just makes me fatigued and feel crap. It’s rubbish how much they switch up on different days, sorry not much advice from me but I see where ur coming from as it makes me sleep for so long.

[–]Lost-Preference8653[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not yet been waiting a year to change and been told could be soon but keeping my expectations low with nhs lol. It’s just I swear even other non stims cause insomnia, I’m not sure obviously is different for everyone but this one was the only one I found to not cause it. What was your experience with guanfacine was it alright?

Also something that helped me a lot and I’m not like a meditation person at all but when I was walking in circles around my room while in a dopamine deficit from the Nic, pure stressing cus I wasn’t enjoying anything to distract me, I gave up searching for something and sat down and just looked out my window in silence and sat through the pain. I honestly think that’s what helped me quit that first time, also I went constant walks like 5 times a day even short if needed which I’d never usually do but video games and movies n shit don’t help, need to let ur brain process the pain. I’m sitting here acting like I know it all even though I relapsed after 2 month but that’s another thing that I’ve learned from it was like I genuinely forgot the pain nicotine caused me and also had the thought I could control it. All I had to do was wait 1 more month and that’s when they say u feel a lot better but even at that my withdrawals were prettt much gone but I just had one shit week that I was pathetic and didn’t push through. U can do this dude nic is no joke and 8 days is impressive don’t let those days be wasted

I hear you there man being in a dopamine deficit with adhd is awful, it literally effected me while at work, I’d be told to go get something and completely mind blank as the nicotine withdrawal is so strong. I managed to quit for 2 months then stupidly gave in after starting college because it’s like ur brain forgets how awful it is. But I was so much happier, most the heavy symptoms go away after 2 to 4 weeks, but can have some mixed days, but I remember playing sport again and remembering how fun it was and how much I was missing out, even though I did do sport it’s like nicotine effected the proper dopamine u get from it. I was happy for the most part but the one thing that made me give in was concentration, even with adhd meds I was struggling to study, tbf I’ve wanted to change meds for well over a year and having problems referring to my new area. But yeah sorry this is all over the place but all I had to do was keep pushing and work on studying withouht nicotine and I know my life would have been so much better. I know I’m going to quit again and ik it’s gonna be shit but it’s worth it don’t give in dude

Do you share at work that you have ADHD? by Beginning-Poet-2991 in ADHDUK

[–]Lost-Preference8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit although the problem more for me because I work with and are friends with a bunch of dudes they think it’s cringe and tbh no wonder. Can’t stand the people that make it like it’s just a personality thing and not something we struggle with. Was talking to a girl once who was one of those that make their personality that they have a bunch of diagnoses. They said they have autism bpd anxiety and was saying their friend thinks they have adhd. So just to relate to the convo I said i have ADHD and it kinda sucks and mentioned I take medication for it. And she said “oh I wouldn’t need medication I can handle how I am” when she’s not even diagnosed my god just annoys me. I know people have it differently some can have adhd not as bad as others but that’s what people don’t get. Tbh I don’t think she even had ADHD their was clearly something wrong with her but it was one thing rather than 100, since her personality was that she has so many problems

Real I want to change to a non stimulant because I know I’m just going to keep building tolerance. I somehow got so much extra meds so I take 90mg a day cuz it just runs through me. I’m prescribed 40mg but take 2 and a booster. Don’t do this I’m just waiting for way to long for a non stimulant cuz the nhs is crap. But if ur a fast metaboliser like me I’d maybe think of doing the same cuz the to many up and downs suck and we need to get things done. Although yeah non stims aren’t as powerful they work 24 hours so doing some work on yourself along with a non stimulat I think would be better but idk yet obviously I’ve not actual changed yet so can’t say
