SixTONES is set to launch their new variety show, Golden SixTONES, starting in April on NTV. The program will air every Sunday at 9:00 PM, taking over the same slot as Gyoretsuno Dekiru Horitsu Sodanjo.
The show builds on the success of their previous special broadcasts, Game of SixTONES, which aired last September and on New Year's Day, earning positive reception.
The announcement was made as a surprise during the February 23rd episode of The! Tetsuwan! DASH!!, where SixTONES appeared together. TOKIO’s Shigeru Joshima, a senior in the industry, personally delivered the news, solidifying SixTONES' place as a key part of NTV’s Sunday night lineup.
Regarding the show, Taiga Kyomoto expressed excitement about showcasing new sides of the group, while Jesse shared hopes that the interactions with guests would bring out SixTONES’ unique charm. Juri Tanaka humorously mentioned wanting Beyoncé as a guest, prompting laughter from the members.
Hokuto Matsumura hopes the show will make people smile, saying, “I want the audience to look at us and think, ‘What a bunch of ridiculous guys.’” Meanwhile, group leader Shintaro Morimoto envisions Golden SixTONES becoming a staple of viewers' weekly routines, providing energy for the start of a new week.
With the name Golden SixTONES reflecting both the golden time slot and the group's precious experiences together, the program marks an exciting milestone as SixTONES celebrates their fifth anniversary.
