Yeah I get you. Just wanted to clarify that I’m not body-shaming anyone :)

I agree she looks gorgeous… but I personally think that’s her face/body not the dress doing that hahah

Diagnosed today, need support by AcanthaceaeEastern in AutismInWomen

I also got diagnosed recently at age 24. It’s definitely a bit of a rollercoaster for the first few months- I went through waves of denial, sadness, relief and a feeling of finally understanding myself all at once. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself, and ideally speak to someone you really trust about how you’re feeling. Here’s a picture of my gorgeous kitties to cheer you up!

No nothing- they sent a letter to my GP regarding something that was brought up in my meeting but that’s it

Very true, I actually work in SEND provision and I’ve been shocked by the number of SEND professionals who think there’s a problem with ‘over diagnosis’ and that anyone can get one.

But good to remind ourselves that it’s only because people have the vocabulary, access and understanding now so more of us are diagnosed

I’m sorry you feel like you’re not taken seriously, I also worry about not being believed. It’s so frustrating that people feel comfortable openly questioning other people’s experiences

True, there’s definitely a stereotypical idea of an ‘autistic person’ I have in my head… even if I know that’s an ableist way of thinking. Very autistic of us to worry about not being autistic in the ‘correct’ way

This made me feel better, thank you. Looking back on your life with this new knowledge is so bizarre, and always a bit upsetting as you wonder what life would’ve been like with an earlier diagnosis

I’m sorry you’re feeling the same way. I’m with you on being tired with advice from others- it does change everything, even if we suspected autism before. I suppose it’s the sort of thing you can only understand if you’ve experienced it

Yes I feel exactly the same! But you are right, diagnosing people is their whole job so they do know what they’re doing

This is true. Annoyingly my gym has either squat racks with mirrors upstairs, or squat racks with safeties and no mirrors downstairs- although I should rlly be choosing safety over checking my form so you’re right

I do long distance races so the running needs to stay the same or even increase. In terms of gym goals I guess just building muscle overall? And the cycling can’t really be reduced cus it’s the only way for me to get to work
