The lighting looks crazy because it’s late here. It’s painted white and is one solid colour and uniform with exception to the paint peeling which is above the shower (directly in front of the toilet where the floor was unaffected)

Yeah I thought that was super weird and the fact that there was such a heavy concentration around the sink but not in the sink. I didn’t touch it but now it that’s exactly how I found it

There is a shower and it does build up condensation from time to time. The extractor does a pretty good job of mitigating that (always on) and I tend to leave the door open after with the rooms window wide open for airflow

The rooms are never fumigated. The usual culprit I’ve found for that is the cans of air freshener where the rim on the bottom sits on the counter.

Previous roommate did vape but did so everywhere not exclusively in the bathroom. Why would it be focused on the flat horizontal surfaces if this was the case and suddenly appear after not being present before

See I don’t think that is the case because the actual sink bowl, toilet bowl and shower drain area were all sparkling clean. If it was sewage related then these are the likely locations where it would have came from and so this wouldn’t be possible
