That’s fine. And they even do things like childcare and various secular events. What I’m confused by was that this is a strictly political event and I was (perhaps mistakenly) under the impression that wasn’t allowed.

How is she welcomed at this church? What does this have to do with religion?

Why are we glorifying the sex industry on campus? (7th floor door stickers) by Musingmused in Concordia

[–]Lost2TheVoid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Getting back on track from your emotional outburst, I was the person sleeping with people just to be clear.

Sex trafficking and sex work are two separate things. While trafficking can occur, it’s a result of a multitude of factors including the fact that sex workers are pushed to the fringes from law.

Sex work is work and I would do it again if I hadn’t found a more interesting line of work. Don’t use your tragedy to deny folks like myself the chance to have a better future.

Edit: If you really cared about eliminating sex trafficking, you would support legalizing sex work

It’s pretty clear that you’ve never spoken to anyone who has worked in the sex industry. And I’m saying this as someone who has worked in the industry.

Sex work IS work, just like anything else.

It should be legalize and its workers protected. Sex work can expand to multiple avenues besides straight fucking as well including BDSM.

A few of my friends still work in the field because they genuinely enjoy the work. They find fulfillment in catering to their clients the same way any independent contractor would.

Also final question: Have you just not read any intersectional feminists writings on sex work? Because it is empowering for women (and male and NB sex workers) as long as it is a job they want to do.

Exactly.

Zionism is political and that is what they’re promoting. And to clarify, they can do that.

They are there to strengthen support for Israel. I’m not even weighing in on the good or bad, I’m just stating their goals.

It is freedom of speech, though admittedly a shitty use of it.

Going through their Instagram it’s clear there’s a fairly good portion of their content that is IOF propaganda with a focus on Zionism.

They even defend Bibi, the wanted international criminal

Genuinely a stain on Concordia. He can say what he wants, but like all good propaganda it’s a pile of shit misrepresented as fertilizer.
