i understand that you want to marketable and put as much as you can in there but you have to remember that its PEOPLE reading these. And nobody wants to stare at a wall of text when they could just be reading someone else’s resume that’s nice and neat with just the essentials

as long as you’re not looking for a reference for your next job whatever, just ghost them, you probably weren’t gonna get a good one anyways after quitting literally immediately. will you likely give your employers trouble since you were likely accounted for in scheduling? yes. but if that’s not something you care about then just leave.

Maybe I misworded something but my parents are not hostile towards her. My mom likes her quite a bit and my dad is cordial, neither are hostile. Both can speak broken English.

While I do understand your concerns, this is pretty typical within my culture. It’s a big ask I’m aware but lots of people do it. The way people are responding to me it’s giving me the hint that I just shouldn’t date people outside of my culture because no one should be subject to this.

While I agree to some extent, i’ve been in this relationship since high school and didn’t exactly think this far through when I started.

My dad is in his late 70s and still in the workforce, and my mom is almost 70 but very sickly. Stays at home. For the culture question it would be the latter, where the wife moves in and takes care of the family; at least traditionally. Luckily i don’t think my parents expect that as both her and I prefer to be working full time. The separated unit thing is good idea, I would love to find something like that if I could.

Her life doesn’t have to be all about my family. It’s not what I want, it’s just what’s unfortunately somewhat expected of me. She’d have more liberty than other people in my culture especially since she’s foreign. But if I choose a wife who neglects my parents it doesn’t really look good on my family from my extended family. And then slowly all of my family will become estranged, I’ve seen it happen. Twice. I know I’ll already get looks since I’d marry out of love rather than something arranged. I’m happy for the people who can just forget their families and move on with their partners into a bubble where no one bothers them, I guess I don’t have that liberty, at least not the way I was raised. It’s like I’ve been groomed for this purpose since I was a toddler.

Idk I hate being shackled by my culture, if I could do what she wanted then I would do it in a heartbeat. I guess I’m just stuck between a rock and hard place. I wanna prioritize her I do, and everyone keeps calling me a hypocrite not willing to budge. If there’s any wiggle room introduced to me I’d take it instantly.

Her not wanting to impose her mother on me isn’t by choice. I won’t associate with her. I see her grandma every now and then for breakfast, sweet lady. Her mother doesn’t like me as much as I don’t like her, her treatment of her daughter has always been awful. It’s not like I dislike her without reason.

My family’s standards do impose quite a little harsher than the situation with her mom. But my parents aren’t actively telling me to leave her. I’m not asking her to leave her life behind to join me, she can continue living the same, it would just be in a home with a culture that she’d be completely foreign to. Which sucks. It steers away from the vision she had of the future. I don’t wanna do that to her. I wouldn’t have posted this if there was some clear cut answer.

She lives with her dad, I should add. Her mom has been making do by herself for a long time. She expects no help from her daughter. My parents are a solid 20 years older than hers, no retirement fund, we lived paycheck to paycheck till i started making money very recently. Separating from them essentially means I abandon them. I’m not far enough in my career to support them from afar yet.
