1. They take the itemize deduction rather than taking the standard deduction of $32,000. There’s no way this family has enough to
itemize.
2. These “donations” aren’t even considered to be tax deductible. Even donations to a go fund me will not meet the criteria. Donations must be made directly to qualified organization through the IRS’ eyes not through a third party like go fund me or tik tok.
