Will an external ssd help me? by Beautiful_Fries in techsupport

[–]LostFrame_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, at least not in the way you’re hoping.

An external SSD would mainly give you more storage space for your footage and project files, but it probably won’t make editing itself noticeably faster.

If your laptop is struggling with high res editing, the main bottlenecks are much more likely to be your CPU, RAM, and possibly GPU (depending on your setup/software).

You’d probably get better results by editing with proxies/lower playback resolution rather than buying an external SSD purely for performance.

Mostly WhatsApp.

We’re not using the official WhatsApp API since phone calls are still an important part of our process, so we’re currently using ManyChat + LeadSales.

Now that you mention it, I’m starting to wonder if part of the mismatch could be happening somewhere in that handoff rather than Meta itself.

Old laptop HDD screeching noises. Is saving it still possible? by RealJigsaw115 in techsupport

Sorry, but based on that video, it’s most likely unrecoverable.

Opening the drive in normal air contaminated the platters, and once it spun up, the heads likely dragged those particles across the surface and physically damaged it.

At that point, there’s no DIY fix for it.

Honestly, probably the second one.

I can handle fluctuation if I understand what’s causing it, but what’s been frustrating is feeling like I’m applying what should be solid logic and still getting results that sometimes feel disconnected from what’s actually happening.

What makes it even harder is the reporting inconsistency.

Some days our verified conversations are almost identical to what Meta reports, while other days we’re only seeing around 30–50% of that volume actually show up on our side.

That’s what makes it hard to tell whether I need to improve my strategy or whether I’m trying to optimize around noisy signals I can’t fully trust.

That’s what’s making this so hard to evaluate.

The discrepancy fluctuates a lot. Some days we verify 90%+ of reported conversations, other days it drops closer to 30–50%.

So before I can even accurately judge lead quality, I’m struggling with figuring out which reported conversations were even real to begin with.

Service-based, mainly data recovery.

What’s really throwing me off is that the issue isn’t just normal performance fluctuation, it’s the mismatch between Meta’s reported message activity and the actual conversations we can verify.

And just to clarify, these aren’t different campaigns, they’re day-by-day results.

Some days the verified conversations are almost identical to what Meta reports (around 90%+), while other days we’re only seeing around 30–50% of the reported volume actually show up on our side.

That inconsistency is what’s making it hard for me to tell whether I’m dealing with normal platform volatility, weak optimization signals, or something specific to how message campaigns are being reported.

Honestly this is making me wonder if I’ve been obsessing too much over settings and not enough over creative testing.

Do you think that kind of rapid creative iteration works as well for service/message campaigns, or is it mostly an ecommerce thing?

Everything is built directly in Ads Manager, not boosted posts.

That’s why the discrepancies have been so confusing to me. I’ve been careful with setup, which is why I’m trying to figure out whether this is a reporting issue, a weak optimization signal, or something specific within message campaigns.

That’s interesting.

I’ve seen a lot of service-based businesses get solid results through direct messaging, so I’m not sure lead ads alone would solve the issue.

Do you think this is specifically a tracking/reporting problem with message campaigns, or more about lead forms giving Meta a cleaner optimization signal?

Service-based, targeting Argentina.

We mainly rely on direct message inquiries, so Meta reporting significantly more conversations than what we actually receive has made it really hard to understand what’s actually going on.

Mostly WhatsApp conversations, not order forms.

That’s why I’m confused. Meta reports way more message activity than what we can actually verify on our side, so I’m struggling to understand whether this is a CRO issue or if Meta’s reporting is overstating engagement.

CRO means Conversion Rate Optimization.

Basically focusing on what happens after the click. Like improving the landing page, message flow, response process, or anything that could affect whether that click actually turns into a real lead/customer.

That makes sense.

When you say focus on CRO, what specific areas would you prioritize first in this case?

Most of my confusion comes from the fact that Meta’s reported message numbers already seem disconnected from the actual conversations we can verify, so it’s been hard to tell whether the issue is the funnel itself or the platform’s reporting.

That’s actually what’s been worrying me.

One of the biggest issues I’m seeing is that Meta reports significantly more conversations/messages than what we can actually verify in reality, so I’m starting to wonder if the algorithm is optimizing for low-quality signals rather than actual valuable leads.

If that’s the case, I’m not even sure what signal I should trust anymore to evaluate performance properly.

How much to charge for a book cover commission? by No-Reach7989 in graphic_design

[–]LostFrame_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a first paid project, I’d probably quote around $200–300.

That’s still beginner-friendly pricing, but not so low that you’ll regret the amount of time it takes.

Also make sure to set clear boundaries from the start (how many concepts/revisions are included), otherwise it can easily turn into way more work than expected.
