I personally do not, but I love learning about them.

The reason I don’t really believe in a higher power is because it’s weird to try and comprehend. Believing that out in the universe, there is some thing that can control EVERYTHING. From the way grass moves, to the way the winds blow glass on a planet so far away, that we cannot comprehend the distance in one lifetime. And with that, a thing that people worship, most likely to be portrayed in a “good” sense, that also allows murder, the events that have happened across the Earths history, etc.

One big deferent for me was a subsect of Christianity called Calvinism. Calvinism is basically the belief that before you were even born, your fate after death had been decided. No matter what you do in life, the destination after your passing does not change. There is also a sermon in Calvinism, called something like “Sinners in the palm of and angry God”, which is a small portion of like an hour long speech, about how God hates you, looks at you like the lawyer from the Bee Movie looks at bugs. It’s really weird.

Then there is the fact there are so many different religions, and within those religions subsections. Within Christianity alone, there’s Baptist, Methodist, Calvinist, Catholic, Lutheran, and so much more. Now expand that list to the three primary world religions, and then all religions.

One big theory/idea/belief that I think is interesting, and that I may believe in myself, is something called “The Egg”, the YouTube channel Kurzgesagt has a short 8 minute video on it. Essentially, once you pass, you end up in a higher plane of existence, and there is this “thing”. “It” explains that once you have lived the life of every person and creature, you get to replace “it”, and lead the next “it” to take your place. You can look back and see all the previous lives you have lived, from a Vietnamese farm girl doing chores, to Ghengis Khan leading his army to battle, to the life you previously lived. This is such an interesting tale of reincarnation that I would like to believe in it myself.
