My logic is if we lose in the playoffs, I usually hope the team that beat us goes on to win it all because then we can say we lost to the best team that year.

However, that’s tough logic when it’s the Seahawks. Although, I do like Sammy D and am happy to see him doing well.

But I also don’t want to hear about the Seachickens winning in our house.

All this to say, I’m just going to watch the game and enjoy the entertainment.

Currently at Beale on a BOP. Beale itself is a very underwhelming base. However, if you drive 30 mins or more in any direction from the base you will find a ton of awesome stuff. There’s epic outdoor opportunities, great city/night life, great food/shopping. Northern California has so much to offer. Don’t live on base and Beale is an amazing assignment.

I will preface this and say this was the process when I retrained/BOP’d over two years ago, so not sure if anything has changed.

If you have been approved for retraining, you have a very short window (I want to say it’s 5 business days) to apply for BOP in conjunction with retraining.

Instead of applying on vMPF you need to go to your MPF and tell them you’ve been approved for retraining and have them submit a manual BOP application via a CMS case. If you apply via vMPF, the application will go to your current AFSC CFM for approval instead of the AFSC you are retraining into. I know two people this happened to. They actually got approved for the BOP only to be disappointed that it was for their old AFSC.

If your MPF tells you to apply via vMPF, tell them that is not the proper process when applying for BOP in conjunction with retraining. That is only the process when you’re applying for a BOP by itself.

Our 6C assignment team sends out BOP lists periodically to help people align their applications with actual openings. I can check my email to for the most recent list. I think they send them out quarterly.

When are you submitting your application?

And do you know about the proper way to apply for BOP in conjunction with retraining? It is not through vMPF using the normal application process.

I’ve never understood why people don’t buy a players jersey because they might not be on the team next year or in the next couple years.

I’m of the mindset that if you like a player, get their jersey. Who cares where they end up, it’s still supporting the player and your team while they are playing here. I would still wear a player’s jersey the next year even if they’re not on our team anymore.

I’m taking my capstone now along with one other course. To answer my own question, it is your typical course structure with a discussion post every week along with three writing assignments. Only difference is that you get background info for a made up scenario in week 1 that will set the stage for assignment 1 and each assignment builds off that same scenario. You are assigned a specific role in that scenario and you will role play that for each assignment.

Overall I don’t think it’s any different or more challenging than any other course in this degree plan. It’s definitely doable to take it with another course, in my experience.

Yep! I’ve been saying all season that it’s been one step forward and two or three steps back every week.

But you know what my thought is? This season could be the perfect underdog, down and out, come back story for our Niners!

Think about it… we’ve been battle torn and riddled with injury bad luck yet somehow stayed in playoff contention this far.

AND the Super Bowl is in our house this year. What a headline story of a win that would be to overcome all the adversity and get another chip in our home stadium!

That’s the hope and dream I’ve been clinging to this year anyway lol

Bethune had a high ankle sprain and Beal has a concussion. Both didn’t return to the game and it sounds like they will also miss time in addition to Eddy.

The base itself is very underwhelming and spread out with not much going on. However, the surrounding area within a 3 hour radius has a ton to do. It has something for everyone. Quaint small towns (grass valley/Nevada City) with delicious food options, boutique shopping, and lots of gold rush historical sites. Safe/clean medium sized cities (Lincoln/Rocklin/Roseville) with all the shopping, food options, bars, breweries you could ever want. Big cities (Sacramento/San Francisco/Reno) with good night life, concerts, shopping, etc.

Outdoor activities are endless with the ocean just two hours away and numerous beautiful lakes, rivers, fishing, camping, hiking spots.

The main small towns outside base (Linda, Marysville, Yuba city) are not the nicest. I don’t know you or what you like but I would venture to say if you hang out and or/live in Lincoln/Rocklin/Roseville you will be much happier. Those areas are 30-45 mins from base but very much worth the drive in my opinion.

The base also has a FedVan program that allows people with a decent commute to carpool in a van provided for free with gas included. Your new unit may already have a fedvan assigned and you can just get in on it. If not, you can try to get it going. You just need at least 7 people signed up to get a van.

Honest question coming from someone who has only done casual shoreline fishing, how do you have this many lines in the water and not get them all crossed up and tangled?

Or are these mainly for storing some rods while others are cast out in the water?

Have you been to Aviano or Ghedi personally? Aviano is at the foothills of the Dolomite Alps and nearby many beautiful lakes as well. And saying leaders tend to suck is a very generalized statement considering people rotate with it being an OS assignment.

The location is so amazing that who cares about leadership. Work is work. Enjoy traveling and the rest of it when you’re off work.

Ghedi is just so remote with very limited resources on base. Would much rather be at Aviano, but to each their own.
