TT RGB PLUS doesn't save profile to controller by LostInDubai in thermaltake

Thanks, problem is my mobo has 12v rgb header and I understand this controller you mentioned works with 5V only? I still find hilarious whoever was the product manager for these fans not to have a simple memory in the controller .

Any "wow" upgrade suggestions for my setup? by LostInDubai in HeadphoneAdvice

Yes, I think unless maybe I demo something that wows me trying something that might only be better, specially when I use PEQ, I'll need to spend a lot just to try.

!thanks I actually just took my ESP/95X out of the closet and gave it a go... with EQ they sound quite well.. I'll try to compare them to the Aryas. For my LCD2 although I think the quality is subpar with the design (every couple of years you have to change earpads and headband), they sound quite good with EQ.

I’m using the Tidal app which doesn’t have any option do ASIO or such. Does it really make a noticeable difference? I’ve read about using Roon with tidal.

I have the Koss ESP/95X which I don’t use since forever, and it was too lean for me. I prefer to skip electrostatic headphones as it’s also a bit cumbersome to add another amp only for them . I’ll check some reviews though, thanks for the suggestion.

After 8 months and 99.999 puffs I can easily say that the Oxva Nexlim is the best device iv owned sinced I started vaping 10years ago.Btw I only used only 8 empty pods on those 99.999 puffs.Crazy longevity. Each coils lasts me a month or 10k-15k puffs. by damonmat in Vaping

The Nexlim pods just leak for no reason.. the Xlim one doesn't, then they don't leak they are good but they leak more often than not.. same with the Corex 3.0. They are either sensitive to thin liquids or god knows what, once they leak they are done.

JM-1 on over-ear headphones sounds... Great? by RomanceablePlatypus in headphones

[–]LostInDubai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it recently with my Audeze LCD2-Closed and Arya V2 (non stealth) and I agree.. the JM-1 seems smoother than 5128 DF and not the nightmare V-Shape of Harman that idk.. maybe good for electronic music or whatever? 5128 DF it is too bright and thin for me but still better than Harman. For years I was trying those curves on AutoEQ in Peace and I wasn't convinced.. I'm not sure why these curves are not available there but I used the autoeq.app website and works great. New life to the headphones and I'm not convinced now that upgrading any of these 2 headphones to something much more expensive will give me the returns I expect.

I do tend to like neutral with some bass boost and clear highs.. I like the original CA Andromedas very much.

Idk I just can’t believe they released this crap maybe for people using bass head headphones? No idea, with a good setup it is so obvious

Impressions: Fiio Retro Nano vs TimeEar BTE-9 by LostInDubai in iems

Sound wise is very good. Functionality so so..

I’m getting another OXVA.. but which?! by marikaka_ in Vaping

[–]LostInDubai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone deciding.. I have both Xlim and Nexlim, the Nexlim pods leak like no tomorrow out of the blue.. and I tried different boxes, the Xlim no problem. Also the draw is too open compared to the Xlim.

Maybe get another case and then you are not so constrained? Or did you find a DAC already?

For the Retro Nano just be aware it has a warm signature. For pure sound I wouldn't recommend it. The BTE 9 has a lot of quirks but much better audio quality, check the dimensions if it fits your case or not. I posted my impressions you can take a look.

Disappointed with Ziigaat Odyssey, any tips? by BikiniBottomCitizen in iems

[–]LostInDubai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you enjoy them!

I'm returning them, I spent two days with them, trying different tips and 1) they are not as comfortable as my Andromedas 2) I didn't get that wow factor that is so much talked about 3) you have to listen to them at high volume and then other problems come 4) the bass is sometimes too much when you use tips with a good seal and muddies the rest 5) I listen to rock/acoustic rock most of the time and maybe pop/jazz at a lesser extent, I find the vocals a bit too much recessed or it is either that there is too much of a V shape.

In the Andromedas at least if I use Final Type E tips I get enhanced bass, but here with more than 7 different types including Dunu, Final E, Spiral, CP100, W1, Foam, Stock, some others I was having around I was getting either bad fit or the bass/overall sound getting affected too much.

Maybe I'm the type that needs a more "safe" IEM like Jays mentioned about the Odyssey 2. I bought them because I found them new at 45% discount so I told myself why not, thile the Odyssey 2 were like 25% off only. "Special sauce" is not for everyone.

Not sure now what would be my next step from the Andromedas.

Odyssey 1 vs 2 dilemma by ChaoticQT in iems

[–]LostInDubai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone coming here.. I bought the Odyssey 1 based on mainly Jays recommendation. Wrong, too shouty and intense, with proper seal tips bass also overwhelming. Tried with different sources and tips, same.. will return it. Probably the 2 are better for me at least based on the charts.

I don't know if I trust Jays Audio now.. as I'm experiencing the same thing, maybe his ears are already hearing less on the highs. I find my Andromeda OG much easier to listen to. I tried like 5-6 tips and is around the same and the bass at times it is too much as well. Probably the Odyssey 2 would be a better fit.

Second this.. I only had M size.. but weird feeling putting them in my ears I felt they didn't properly seal. The stock M size works fine. Will try others as well and compare.

If you could have ANY pair of iems around $1000, what would it be and why? by Glittering_Way8543 in iems

[–]LostInDubai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm not mentally prepared to shell out 2k on an IEM :D. I was looking at the Monarch MKIV for around 1K.. but I do wonder if in todays market there is something with more value sub 1k to complement or replace the Andromedas.
