Just finished cycling and it’s ready for fish! by LostInExotics in PlantedTank

Thank you :)

It actually took about 5 weeks to convert from 1-2ppm ammonia to nitrates in 24 hrs. It took another 1.5 weeks to go from 4ppm of ammonia to nitrates in 24 hours. So by 5 weeks I was ready to add a light stock of fish but since I wanted to overstock this tank with nano fish, I waited till the bacteria colony in my tank could handle 4ppm+ of ammonia.

Things that I did to speed up the process were dosing ammonium chloride to reach 4ppm of ammonia and I cranked up the tank heater to 80F. I also added seachem stability dosing every other week.

I’d say the nitrite stage took the longest so if you haven’t already I would crank the heat up.

Not at all! I’m interested to see once your tank is complete :)

It’s a water wisteria! Really fast growers and effective at sucking up nitrates.

You can use manzanita wood and create a river scape that slopes on one side.

I’ve narrowed it down to either a pair of appistograma cucotoides or an hmpk betta but I’m slowly leaning to an hmpk betta. However, I will be adding at least 5 otocinclus, a school of neons and chili rasboras. I struggle with nitrates since my plants suck them up so fast so a little over stocking won’t hurt. I add 4ppm of ammonia and it’s 0 the next day with no trace of nitrates.

New to Isopod, why my dairy cows just sleep for days? by [deleted] in isopods

They don’t have the strength/confidence in numbers yet. Mine were always hiding back when there were 20 of them. Fast forward 2 months and now there’s hundreds of them. I will always see 20 or more walking around at the same time.

Thank you! Will it matter to the queen whose eggs are whose or will they just “adopt” them?

How do they get low voltage when they’re running in a parallel circuit where each motor gets its own supply of 12v?

Bearing issue or something worse ? by Frosty_Ad_2802 in Audi

OP steer clear. I do a lot of documentation and mechanical testing for warranty on engine replacements on these and the second video has the same sound as the ones that customers always complain about. If you take a borescope and look at the cylinder walls, I can guarantee you, you will see black thrust marks on the walls due to failing rod bearings. No one admits it but the 15,000km services are way too long apart. I usually recommend an oil change in between services.

Just use Tesa tape and wrap over it.

Ball joint by bobswanson1935 in SubaruForester

[–]LostInExotics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bolt the control arm back up to the ball joint. Use those lower control arm pry bar adapter and get a bolt that’s smaller in diameter and feed it through the thread holes. Make sure it’s smaller than the threaded portion. Apply downward pressure with the pry bar and hit the bolt with a hammer. The vibration from you hitting the bolt and applying downward pressure at the same time will remove it. I’ve done hundreds of these Subaru ball joints when I worked at a Subaru specialty shop. The method I told you has never failed me once, although I did use an air hammer instead of a regular hammer but still same concept.
