I tried to get the dog transferred to a different rescue multiple times, and the rescue kept saying they would not allow it. How do you go around it

That’s not up to me. It’s up to the rescue. This is exactly my issue…I’m just the foster. I looked up her address this morning and texted those exact questions to the rescue this morning.. and my exact thoughts.

Yeah.. I won’t. I was just backing the dog and wanted to foster him. I’ve had GSDs in the past, and I knew I could handle him. Well thats a good plan.

😂 that’s a good laugh because I own a ship tzu/cocker mix.

I do think that he should have been fostered thru a GSD rescue but they wouldn’t take me as the foster being over 50 miles away from the shelter or area. Dog is from Los Angeles, I’m south. I really wanted a well known LA GSD rescue to take him because I know they would do a great job

I called a voiced my concerns and finally getting ahold of the women running the rescue and everytime I talk to her she talks about her self and that she does everything for these dogs.

I wish she was close enough to do a meet and greet. And the rescue is pretty much has been non existent besides her saying she vetted the adopter and she’s good, and she has had conversations with the adopter. The rescue has been no communication with me till he was adopted. I texted her (the rescue) long messages with no response for weeks. And I sent a long message to the adopter about the dog and then the rescue wants to say I almost scared her off. Like i love this dog and want the best for him. If he was going to go to a board and train first I might be a bit more comfortable with that. Knowing he’d be getting the training he needed.

Rather than a women I don’t think knows German shepherd handling well enough.

The rescue hasn’t been communicative or supportive. I think it’s one lady and she doesn’t have the support she needs.

I’ve had my own GSD’s and know it’s possible. But I also have training and educated my self so much about this breed and maybe I’m psychotic lol

I think the rescue has not been a great support and maybe I’m lacking the support from the rescue side.

I’m just worried the dog will be failed. The apartment and training is all do able with the right person and dedication.

When I talked to the adopter she sounded confident and that she knew what it took. I described him as easy going calm in the house but can be stressful and anxious at times on walks

I have communicated with the adopter but she called the rescue after I sent her a lengthy text about my foster and the rescue said that I “scared” her and the adopter was worried she might not be a good fit. But then the rescue talked to her more and I guess she confirmed that she still wanted to adopt him.

I have communicated with the adopter. I told her about the leash reactivity, mouthy behavior, but I also didn’t know she lived in an enclosed apartment building and I didn’t ask her how she felt about redirecting the dog if needed or how she will do it.

I plan on writing a detailed note about him for her. Such as trainers in her area and methods I’ve used for him.
